He got the PR going for him.
And a history of scams, frauds and even snitching on his own friends.
I looked at the concept of his new project. Basically pirates can upload a new movie, like Pirates of the Carrebean Salazar HDRIP, and then set a price for it. So they will get rewarded for every download with lets say $0.01. Now DISNEY who owns the rights can step in and say "but HEY!! thats OUR movie!! We want the $0.01 per download. And then the pirate will get nothing, and Disney will get the money".
Now I am not sure why DOWNLOADERS would pay for a movie in the first place. If a movie gets on the net as torrent, on filehosters, or even distributed by a scene release, it will be everywhere for free. Why should pirates pay for it....?
Why should Disney be fine with getting $0.01 or $0.10 or $1 for it? They have plans currently to bring new movies 2-3 weeks after cinema start thru apple but it will be like $50 (!)
I think this concept is pretty bad as it is now. Proceed with caution.
Thanks for the advice!
I agree, the concept is a bit weird. I already tried the demo and It was really cool and easy to use. Personally, I wouldnt mind paying small amounts like 0.0001$/download if the hosting service is good and ads free. I even got a free preloaded bitcache wallet. Anyway, most people don't even know what bitcoin is, and would refuse to pay even 0.00000000000000000001$.
I'm sure Kim knows this and will work to make a solution. Anyway it's still soon. I will invest only in case I have information about how the final product will be.
Hearing for the first time here about the Kim's project about the new megaupload, I read many articles and tweets by him in the past but not recently for a while.
Checked the airdropalert website and couldn't find any info about his ICO nor there is a date when it's going to be launched his project.
I would check his whitepaper or anything related to his project but not investing a huge money as you are talking because that's too risky.
He tweeted a few days ago about the dates, we must wait some days before we get more information.
