Whitewash is avoided, but I really don't think that this consolation win would do anything to improve their reputation. Bangladesh did well during the ODI Super League by finishing at the 3rd position. They won a total of 15 matches out of 24 (although many of the wins were achieved at home, under helpful pitch conditions). Whatever they achieved during the ODI Super League is under the threat of getting erased. The upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup will be crucial for Bangladesh to showcase the improvement they made in the ODI format.

Bangladesh was able to avoid the whitewash. But was it a good enough performance from them? I mean the performance throughout the series. Bangladesh was supposed to win this series against Afghanistan. In my opinion, they have failed miserably. Of course, if there was not so much drama around the players and the team, I think Bangladesh could actually perform well. But the senior players do not understand that do they? They think they are everything in the team and no one else matters. And Bangladesh is not going to perform well in the World Cup. I am almost sure about that. The team is not working perfectly and the chemistry between the players are not good right now.

Based on the recent performance of Bangladesh it can be said that Bangladesh was favorite over Afghanistan in this series but Bangladesh lost miserably against Afghanistan in the first two matches. Bangladesh batsmen have given away wickets in the first two matches against Afghanistan. In the second match, not only batting was bad, Bangladeshis performed very badly in both batting and bowling. Bangladesh has held this team beautifully till now, it would be wrong to think of forming a team without the senior cricketers.

I hope that the T20 series will come in favor of Bangladesh in senior junior combination. Since the series against Afghanistan was lost, Bangladesh should now plan for the T20 series.

Bangladesh on the other hand has only a handful of players who participate in such leagues. There is the Bangladesh Premier League, but the quality seems to be going down with each passing year. Afghanistan's future looks much brighter when compared to that of Bangladesh and the latter has been in stagnant mode for quite some time now.

200 ODI runs is never a secure target. Now usually in T20 cricket most of the matches are scored 200 plus runs how can one dream of winning in ODI cricket by scoring 200 runs. Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Kumar Das formed a good partnership in the beginning, although two batsmen were out for Bangladesh in the beginning.

After Shakib Al Hasan got out with 39 runs, Tawheed Hriday finished the game with a good partnership with Liton Das, that is, Bangladesh secured victory in this match with about 28 overs in hand. In today's match team Afghanistan didn't play well and they batsmen were totally playing like mediocre game in this match. The Bangladeshi team finally won a 1 match out of 3 ODI matches against Afghanistan and that's a really thumbs up for the team, but in their previous matches the team Bangladesh disappointed many fans because of the worse performance in those matches.

I agree that Afghanistan lost this match because they were incapable of scoring good runs in this match and that's why they have lost this match. However, I still hope that they will play better in the coming matches because the team is a good one. Liton Das contributed the most to Bangladesh's victory in today's match. Shakib Al Hasan has taken this match a long way but the batting performance has been good. Bangladesh finished the third and last match of the series against Afghanistan in a great manner.

After losing the first two matches in a row, there was a big fear that Bangladesh would be whitewashed. Basically, to protect their honor, there was no option to win today. Bangladesh entered the field against Afghanistan today with three changes in the plan.

Mustafizur Rahman Ebadat Hossain,Hasan Mahmud were replaced by Shariful Islam Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam who bowled brilliantly against Afghanistan. The three players who were substituted together picked up eight wickets. In other words, the biggest contribution behind the victory of this match is the contribution of these three bowlers.

Even though Bangladesh lost the ODI series to Afghanistan, Bangladeshi fans can definitely hope for the T20 series because Shakib Al Hasan will be the captain of the T20 team.
