Unzip the official binaries to your desktop to "cgminer" subdirectory. Run it from there.

Awesome. My AMU device should arrive soon and I'll just directly try 3.2.0 on my linux box.
If it's not here yet, the official 3.2.0 will almost certainly be out before you get it

If cooling them down doesn't help, try again with the next version (3.2.0) - when it comes out soon - and see if that helps, there have been a few big changes, I rewrote a lot of the Icarus driver 
(and switched it to direct USB)
(and it calls them AMUs in the next version)
2) Next version (3.2.0) you won't need all the -S, current version (3.1.1) does of course

If cooling them down doesn't help, try again with the next version (3.2.0) - when it comes out soon - and see if that helps, there have been a few big changes, I rewrote a lot of the Icarus driver (and switched it to direct USB)

2 things:
1) Yes they get errors.
If it's getting more than about 1%, you probably need to cool them down more and that should reduce it
My emerald gets between 1% and 1.5% coz it has no heat sink (ambient is low 20sC) - I'm not sure what to expect with sapphire

I'm noticing after a couple hours of hashing, that every single Block Erupter USB I have running under CGMiner 3.1.1 with the --icarus-options and timings set is displaying Hardware Errors under Windows 7 64 bit.
Am I doing something wrong ?

You probably have not changed directories with 'cd' into the directory and are calling cgminer with a pathname instead.

Have you tried right clicking and running as administrator?
