Yea if you are using eyeboot's hub its definitely the hub. While they are great hubs, he uses power supplies that are on the cheaper end for 5v, and I'm not sure if the USB chips he uses can handle the number of ports he has that well. I've seen similar strange behavior since I use his hubs for rapid testing.

63 cores is what its supposed to show if all your cores are healthy (Core# 0-63).
[/quote]

I purchased the 49 Port that has the built in power supply.  I upgraded the power supply to a much better efficient and powered.

running 13 on it so far with 700 clock.  getting about 50M.

Hi there J,
So is there any way to return one of my MLD2's for repair? The raised black thing next to the heatsink labeled "L1" on the circuit board just under the "der" of Moonlander on the board.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Huh Huh Embarrassed Embarrassed

And the heatsink is damaged....just noticed that upon closer inspection and it appears that my dog may have gotten to it, which answers a few questions for me.  If at all possible to fix please let me know...and if it is even worth it...

Can you post a pic of what your talking about?

I am sorry, I do not know how to attach it to here. I dragged it to here and it goes full size....

there is something wrong with the driver on these.. its been stated before and it has not been addressed or mentioned as a bug..

if you mine with these, and put another pool as a failover.. if that failover pool gets a new block before your main pool does, the whole thing stops mining and times out..

so a little bit of a log to show what happens..

Stratum from pool 1 detected new block
Rejected 005e272e MLD 0  pool 0 Diff 10m/7m (job not found)

after this mining stops completly until you restart the miner.

Just talked with Luke, figured out whats going on here. bfgminer is designed to mine to a single blockchain by default, so if you specific failoverpools, its assuming all failoverpools are mining to the same blockchain, and using those pools for blockchain updates (which would normally be a good thing since if a block update comes from one pool faster, you'll switch work faster and avoid stale shares).

In this case if your failovers are pools which are mining different coins/blockchains then you need to specify bfgminer to not track blockchain messages from other failover pools with "--pool-goal" option.

For example:

bfgminer -o http://pool1:port -u pool1username -p pool1password --pool-goal default -o http://pool2:port -u pool2usernmae -p pool2password --pool-goal freicoin

You can name pool goal whatever you like, as long as they are different for each failover pool that does not mine to the same blockchain. So you could have two litecoin pools, in which case you can put "--pool-goal litecoin" after each pool config, and have a third pool that tracks some random coin which you should put "--pool-goal randomecoin" after the pool config.

sweet.. thanks Smiley

Ok what are people mining with these now. I had few problems on litecoinpool until recently it kicks me off. plus it makes like 4 cents a day so it has me wondering. What is the best way of using it? I have never had a scrypt for verge that worked either. Looking for options.

I mine Achilles with my 5 Moonlanders. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-launching-achilles-ach-biometricsos-implant-masternodes-pow-2793342

L1 cracks sometimes do to heat stress but it still will work just fine. Have you tried to run it?

here is the whole log. as you can see it was mining just fine, then it stops when pool 1 finds a block
this means you cant set a failover pool.. Sad

Code:

here is another after i restarted.. same thing
Code:

Unless this is a pool issue, this would be a bug in bfgminer stratum code. I only code the "driver" for the moonlander, so unfortunately anything outside that would be a bfgminer issue that you should filea issue on Luke-jr's git (I would post this in his bfgminer thread as well). Ill bring it up to him and take a look at it and see if we can find an issue as well.

In the meantime add "-D" option to the command line, and pastebin a log with the issue with the debug output enabled.

EDIT: Also try adding --failover-only option when using failover pools, and see if that resolves the issue.

I'm in no position to give anyone advice, considering I don't even know how to set a fail-over. However I hear people talking, questioning thing they can mine profitably with these moonlanders.
When I first started mining I used litecoinpool.org I was making around 40-60 cents a day. But I got bored and started experimenting with other pools. .

My attack method is to target brand new scrypt algo coins and have POS, mine a few thousands ( the difficulty tends to be really low) and let em stake. Rinse and repeat. .

Here is an example. . https://hashpool.eu/?address=BKhsJPDRxJP2tLWp891gyYzM23h8D4urTL

Easy to mine, and has POS and you can stake at a stake pool  .. . Such as Stake United. .

i been mining verge on https://miningpoolhub.com/ .. actually it switches from verge to gamecredits.. but i have it autoconvert to verge.. and yes you still will only make pennies a day.. altho right now for some reason verge difficulty is really low.. so there is a good chance to get a few coins before it goes back up..

you can also try https://www.ispace.co.uk they have a lot of scrypt coins to mine.

heard there was an attack on XVG yesterday, probably something to do with it

https://www.mining-dutch.nl

also has a lot of scrypt pools with autoexchange but they're limited on what you can exchange to btc/ltc/doge I think, they also run 2 daily raffles for miners where you can win some btc pretty low chance because lots of miners but a pretty good pool for these.

https://pool.gigarho.com

same but you can choose any coin they mine as a payout option

Ok what are people mining with these now. I had few problems on litecoinpool until recently it kicks me off. plus it makes like 4 cents a day so it has me wondering. What is the best way of using it? I have never had a scrypt for verge that worked either. Looking for options.
i been mining verge on https://miningpoolhub.com/ .. actually it switches from verge to gamecredits.. but i have it autoconvert to verge.. and yes you still will only make pennies a day.. altho right now for some reason verge difficulty is really low.. so there is a good chance to get a few coins before it goes back up..

you can also try https://www.ispace.co.uk they have a lot of scrypt coins to mine.

The armv6 build https://github.com/jstefanop/bfgminer/releases/download/bfgminer-5.4.2-futurebit2-beta2/bfgminer_5.4.2-futurebit2_linux_armv6.tar.gz
Does not work, bash says : bfgminer: No such file found.

This possibly and architecture issue?
I wish you actually make the source of this driver and bfgminer available as a .git
Cannot autogen the source the way you have it.

This is painful because lowering power costs, requires lots of Pi.

 Shocked

Runs fine on my Pi3B

I'm using this version, on the odroid atm

cd bfgminer_5.4.2-futurebit2_linux_armv6/
./bfgminer

so far got it to run on pi2, pi3 and odroid xu4

the pi's both run raspian stretch the odroid uses armbian
