they are buying gold to back their currency with gold to compete with usd reserve currency (actually to probably hasten it's collapse).

Given the attitude towards homosexuals they have their and how religious they are ( The Daily Show rightly pointed out they were basically the same as Republicans ) I wouldn't feel too sorry for them, the more open minded and free thinking ones have probably already left or are leaving the country, just like with China.
And we know how honest and reliable The Daily Show is. This one show I saw said the the democrat party was basically the same as racist, fascist, control freak authoritarian statists who hated the poor and loved big business (bringing in 5-10 million new workers to help big business by keeping wages down)..
