Possibly... or just a benefit for someone who wants the site unavailable. I'd like to think the other pool operators are stand-up guys, so I'd assume it's just some script-kiddie getting their kicks.

They don't want pools running where they can't cheat, because those pools are generating blocks they can't take advantage of.

What purpose does an attack have for a cheater?

When the server is down i might switch the pool...no big deal for a miner.

Or?

Thanks mate Cheesy.

I'll wait until your server is back up - I ain't gonna mine on no other pool anymore, cause the cheating is getting out of control.

I hope you can fix it, simplecoin.

Looks like the cheaters trying to bring down the legit pools.

They went after both servers. the main * backup, which are hosted on different machines and ip routes.

Working on it now, both servers got hammered. Bitcoin is rebuilding the dbs now, so we have to wait on that. I'll let you know the moment it's available.

I do recall that, but yesterday I thought he said west coast, but it has eastern time  Huh IDK

Servers on the west coast, I'm in TN. I'll be monitoring pushpool closely.

Site is rebooting!

Almost looks like a bruteforce attack..........

The server is on the west coast! It's 04:45 there, so I'd imagine SC doesn't even know yet!

I think he said he was from TN once.

What payouts again? Cause, really, either I am not understanding it or the stats say:
Est. Earnings: 0.28727599 BTC

whilst the current balance still hasn't moved from 0 BTC. Am I missing something here? (I've been running for like ~2 days).
When someone of this pool, finds a block, we will be paid roughly what the estimated says. I've been running two days too! Our time will come!

Ahhh, ok, gotcha (x.

Out of curiosity though, why do the payouts occur when a block is found/solved?
Can't pay if there is nothing to pay with! When the pool gets 50BTC, we get our cut! Wink

Ah, now it makes sense xD. Thanks for explaining.

pool down whats going on?

pushpool locked up. that's a first.

fixed.

If this ever happens again, you can point your miners to backup.simplecoin.us.

Bummers, just let my miner run through the night just to wake up and notice the bad news =(.

Getting the same number of stales on main.simplecoin.us as simplecoin.us

Your dns should have updated by now making them the same address. If you like, you can try backup.simplecoin.us (that was the original server).
