I think that before that is done, they should sign an address with at least 1.05 btc proving they could pay

You off your meds again, buddy?  Roll Eyes

Fuck off

If the newbi doesn't have the funds to then they shouldn't obviously be getting a refund or whatever you wanna call it.

That was never the issue. I av8rjeff had the funds.

WOW, that is beyond generous Elianite, to be sure.  However, it is completely unnecessary and I'll surely not have you digging into your own pocket to make up some perceived difference.  This was an unusual event and you handled it as you thought best.  I harbor no grudges.  Besides...this is a fun endeavor and I'll not let it be tainted by trivialities such as this, so I will just chalk it up to win some, lose some.

Again, much appreciation on the offer.

Cheers,
Jeff

Well, Newbie....You should have followed through. Like stayed and "paid"....but you didn't. And then there was a "turn of events". Which CAN, and did happen. Therefore, if you had stuck around, you could have bid. No one here is to blame that you took off to go to a bar, vacation, Grandma's house, or a ho-down. The truth of the matter is THATS ON YOU!!!  Undecided   ......yeah.

I think that it is not quite that simple.. and in any case, it is not fair to treat anyone differently based on how many posts they have.

I very much see av8rjeff's perspective as legitimate. Had I done the auction properly everything would be fine, and had I not been locked out, everything would be fine. Further, I had massive time-zone confusion from travelling through three continents in that 2 week period. I don't know how to make this right for everyone.

That said, Fattcatt has paid, and I don't think I can take that back.

av8rjeff, I am willing to offer you a book and a 0.15BTC ($500) transfer, which was the difference between your bids.
As I am only getting a portion of this auction, this represents a significant loss to me. It will be clear that I am not profiting from the extension decision in any way, but it is costing me.

Well, I just got back from vacation and instead of finding a pm requesting funds I see I didn't get the win after all.  When I left for vacation, it seemed pretty clear that I was the winner, so I didn't feel the need to check back.  Not my fault that nobody knows UTC and MinerJones DID bump the thread prior to end of auction.

I think I will write back when I've cooled off because I'm finding it hard to be humble right now and I really want to be.

....and how would we be able to tell the difference, for most of us, that's a day in the life.....nope, never will buy into any "curse" Tom Foolery poop.

let us know how that turns out for you.  Shocked

So what is the "curse" story, now I'm really wondering? (Yeah I like that stuff, sorry FattCatt)! Cheesy

Haha agreed, now that it's sold I'm also wondering what the story is.   Grin

Spill the beans isoneguy!

From what I can tell looking back through Bitcointalk history, this coin has always been owned by wheresmycoin ... He even thanked everyone in this thread for bidding - In his post history, you can see that he tried to sell it once or twice but I don't think it ever happened.  Hey, wheresmycoin, can you tell us what isoneguy means? Thanks! Smiley

Thanks for the offer and it does make me feel like it may have been a sincere mistake and not shenanigans.  However, after what I said I wouldn't feel right accepting anything from you.

And you get a free book too!
It's cool, we can start over.
