The side chain token itself is originally backed by the $1000 going in and if the investors are careful, it will always have its value. Multiple coins and devs can be backed at the same time, the token can be governed by voting by the investors, and no one can run with the funds if it is all controlled well via scripted contracts.
A dev that has an explanation for a heavy pre-mine is fine. The dev can have their pre-mine, but it is stored in the side chain and only available to the dev under controlled circumstances.

The RISE team has taken different approach from other crypto projects. They don't want to do marketing before the code is 100% working. Untill now this approach hasn't worked in terms of coin value.
Hopefully at the RISE team there are people who are well aware of marketing and PR ??

A portion can even be set aside for the dev to use for promotion or whatever. Because he/she is spending within the side chain, it is easy to see where the funds are going.

As was announced last Friday, the revamped RISE Delegate system is about to go online on Testnet. This means the community can start running their own nodes in less than 24 hours from now.
We invite those aspiring to become RISE Delegates and those wanting to be among the first to run a RISE node on the new system to spin up their VPN or Server and get ready.
We have released an install script that can be found on Github at https://github.com/RiseVision/rise-installers
We'll announce it here as soon as Delegate Testnet is live.
Testnet will run for 2 weeks, and we will take the data collected at the end of the two weeks to determine if the new delegate code is good enough to push to production. At that point, we can open up full scale delegation and the community nodes will be able to start forging RISE.
