I now own one bitcoin in my coinbase wallet. It feels good. I am not sure why it feels so good but it does. I have a good feeling about Bitcoin. I am already up 20 euro after today. What could possibly go wrong. Grin

It's Coinbase that owns your 1 BTC.

haha, seriously, just withdraw it from them to a decent wallet, i will never recommend to anyone to leave his bitcoins on any exchanges, is ok if you have some satoshis on them to trade for example, but in general never leave your bitcoins on any exchange.

Do not waste more time, dont risk your money, get a decent wallet and put your bitcoins there...

btw yes, owns some bitcoins made you feel better Wink

No different than how a bank holds one's money...but at least his money isn't in a depreciating fiat currency!
You don't own the keys, you do not have BTC! Let's not mix the topic: no banks talking involved in here.

Niallo27 here's an exercise for you: follow the trail of "your" BTC and see if your wallet is full or empty. Then tell us that's empty.

You should learn how to safely store your coins.  Wink

Feels good to get first bitcoin,  I stored my bitcoin at Blockchain.info in the beginning, that's until I read bout bitcoin security.  You should really try and get any long term holdings on to paper wallets which you have backed up in more than one place.  I used bitaddress and then backed up to. USB.  Its pretty easy to do, you save the webpage and then disconnect you internet connection and then create your address and personal keys.  Read up on it before you do it there some good videos on YouTube.  Hope this helps.

i don't know, but i feel more satisfied when i earn bitcoin directly, than buying, it, buying it seems so straightforward and easy to do

but referring to the first bitcoin may be different, i still remember the feel of having my first coin, was really great

Congrats, it feels good because you worked hard for it, I presume. Now onto the next 20 and you would be set for life.  Roll Eyes Just make sure that you use a better method to store your coins. Have at least 50% of you coins in cold storage.

There is always a risk with third parties. ^hmf^
20btc will make you set for life?
$7k USD?
Really?

20BTC or $7000 is enough to set for live if you live in third world country or developing nations Roll Eyes
Few people who lives there also deposit their money in bank & can live with interest from their deposit

Or maybe he mean 20BTC is enough when bitcoin price is at 4 digit.
if you are in third world or developing I would not expect you to be sitting on a computer trying to make bitcoin.
even if the price is 4digit ($5k for example) $100k USD (in america anyway) will not set you up for life

I must agree with this! Do a research and learn how to secure your own 1 bitcoin and stop using online wallet! For the first time we have a chance to be real owners of our money with Bitcoin and we are again not using it.

Congrats on your 1 whole bitcoin!

Ok i set up an electrum wallet and transfered 0.02 BTC. How long does it stay pending for.

Great job! Make sure you secure it well enough, follow the basic security guides that Electrum proposes and make sure that you keep you computer decently safe (I said decently since no-one can keep it 100% clean) from viruses and malware and you will be good to go!

Know that feeling too. It's great to see that one full bitcoin sitting on your wallet and think of ways how to add more and more. That euphoric moment.. Smiley

Although I have not yet my cherished bitcoin, I have a "virtual" one, because I use to trade the value of bitcoin priced in dollars as a CFD through my forex broker Cheesy

It is always good to have 1 Bitcoin.
For the first time It is fine but for further We should save many more Bitcoins, Even I felt same like In my first BTC. Its pretty good for newbie but we guys have to be more bitcoins for reputation. Rate is also gonna big differnce with Fiat money. It would help us if we saves.

I am in the same boat OP, just recently bought my first BTC. (2 actually)

now all I can think about is how to get that to 3, 4, and hopefully eventually 10

Great going, but make sure that you grow your bitcoins by working smart and not by gambling or trading at the initial stage, looking at your rank I feel that you have just entered the world of bitcoins so it's my suggestion that don't try to reach to 10 BTC overnight or else you would loose even what you have at a moment so its better to move on safely.

20 euros per day is a nice income.

20*365=7.3k euros

It think this was best investment you ever made.

Dude, the price of his one bitcoin went up 20 euros--that's not 20 euros/day of income and I would expect a hero member here to know that.

Also, I have to say it's a sad state of affairs when everyone here is advising OP to get his investment off of the exchange on which he bought it out of fear it'll get stolen from the exchange.  Not saying that this is bad advice at all, but that it's disheartening that scams are so prevalent that such advice has to be given.
