Monero is a well developed project and is the king of privacy coins, this leak in privacy is already fixed, but those who have made transactions before the fix are exposed.
From what I understood the Monero problem is in how the transaction mixer works, but let's wait for someone who knows more...
DeepOnion did not even exist when these leaks were discovered, and I think our devs are aware about this problem (this is not a news, from what I read the problem was already known).
It can be most updatable coin in the future, because people will create a lot proposals and this coin can have a lot features.
