In 6 days I have to meet my in-laws. It's my girlfriend's birthday and she invited me to dinner, I can't keep avoiding them (on three occasions I said no ... but this time I don't think I can escape)

We have been strong, the majority of us see unpredictability as some thing normal, and that we trust strongly in DeepOnion,
we usually advance, the cost for now all of us ignore this and we make use to buy a lot more ONIONS.

Thanks.
May I, please, ask you to update the quoted text of mine as I've changed the download link?

yes
The problem with the Kickstarter program for the physical coins, is that one needs a credit card.

Ain't havin' no credit card, yup...  Roll Eyes

Hello fellow miners
I am not sure if this would work, but you guys could also try the following.

First download the compiled DeepOnion Wallet binary for Mac from my server.

http://brakmic.com/download/apps/DeepOnion-qt

However, do not try to run it as you must first install certain libraries.

This is because Apple forbids "static linking", so all the external libraries (that is, functionalities our Wallet needs) have to be installed separately.
This will be done with the tool called "brew" that is mostly installed on newer Macs.

If not, then go here and install it: https://brew.sh

Now, use Brew to install the following packages line by line (and be patient during installations as some packages are pretty big!)

brew install autoconf
brew install automake
brew install pkg-config
brew install protobuf
brew install [email protected] --cc=clang
brew link [email protected] --force
brew install berkeley-db@4
brew link berkeley-db@4 --force
brew install openssl
brew install miniupnpc
brew install libevent
brew install qt5
brew link qt5 --force
brew install qrencode

Now, open a Terminal and go to the directory where you have downloaded the binary.

For example cd /Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/Downloads

Then type: ./DeepOnion-qt & <=== don't forget the Ampersand!

The & instructs the application to release the Terminal input so you can later close Terminal without closing the app.

So, happy testing and please, let me know it this worked on your machines.
If it worked then you just saved yourself from long complation cycles.

Thank you Haris, nice to see you on Bitcointalk as well  Wink

For those on windows and downloading the blockchain all over again,
If it gets stuck at any point, just restart the wallet.

Roughly 50 Gold Plated coins are left!

Order 10 or more coins in order to get one once we reach the stretch goal!

You can order physical DeepOnion Coins here (19 days left): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/327018978/mint-deeponion-physical-coins

I have seen the announcement to make sure to have specific addnodes in the conf file... which I have changed my node to just those.
That all synching issues have been solved for the most part.

I am personally still waiting to "officially update" and run 1.6.0.  I have the wallet downloaded and ready to go... I am watching the block count and will indefinitely update well before the hard fork officially happens to avoid any issue.

The reason im still waiting is I'm looking for some people to confirm 100% that there is no longer any synching issue, that they are staking 100% properly.

Since the update of 1.6.0... I have stayed on 1.5.5 (Tried 1.5.6 but couldnt get obsf4 working for some reason).  Since most people have updated and there was synching/staking issues I have noticed in the past day I have staked a bit more than often. I dont know if its complete coincidence or not.

Can anybody confirm that staking is working 100% as it should on 1.6.0 and they aren't getting many orphaned blocks and have no synching issues at all? I will update ASAP if i see some confirmations... otherwise I will give it another day or two, but regardless update well before the fork actually happens.
I was running an older version of the wallet ( 1.3.1.0  Grin ) and updated my wallet today. All I did was to download the official wallet -> change the nodes to the news ones and start it -> BOOM fully working and synced wallet. The whole process took me like 2 minutes  Grin Can't confirm about the stakes tho, still nothing hit.

node change neccessary? i updated my wallet too, but i didn`t changed my nodes but synced without any problem?
yes it is, delete all previous nodes and enter only new ones!

Thanks!

Yes. Mine too. Works without any issues. You should all upgrade it.
I did my update. Wallet is syncing now. I feel like it will take a while this time lol
Not sure if it does take more time or if it feels like it's taking more time  Grin
