MT gox isnt a person, it is an exchange which got hacked in 2013. Many Bitcoins were stolen and since januari Mt gox has been dumping some bitcoin on the market to pay back some people whose funds got stolen. This might be the reason of the decline in price

I can't remember verge having a plagiarised whitepaper, its a pretty old coin after forking from Dogecoin some time ago. I know that Tron did however.

Used to be called Dogecoindark before rebranding to Verge Tongue

That may have created the coin and called it that rather than forked, but either way it was associated to Doge
