Just make sure that you backup it multiple times on multiple locations. There has been some cases where users lost their coins because of corrupted wallet.dat file.
Safest thing is to dump your private keys.

Is this current wallet update just for windows or has there been a Mac upgrade as well, would be nice to see how much quicker the newer wallet is and how many more connections i could possibly get, i mean its fast already but if it can get faster then it will be quite impressive!

Personally, I got 3.8%, the more people with more coins are in, the less you get.
But the percentage will increase in 2 rounds as the airdropped amount will be raised from 250,000 to 300,000, but it all depends
what amount of people and their coins will be participating.
I expect something around 4,3 - 4,5% when the amount is raised.
