I think some people just don't follow official news and updates. Maybe it would be nice to have a message on the wallet saying there is an update available or mandatory update 
thats a good idea, not sure how that works from a security aspect though 
Yes, I guess that this could introduce some hazard. It's important to post updates in a way that everybody can find them easily, or to make a newsletter dedicated to only crucial issues.

It is good that you made the proposal but according to rules if a proposal requires any involvement from DEVs they are the only ones who can make such proposal. That is the reason you did not get likes.

We released a small patch after v 1.7.1 named v 1.7.1.1 it fixes the initial crash issue some people reported. If you already run 1.7.1, you don't need to upgrade to this version, unless you experience initial crashes.

Using bitcoin in 2016 to buy THINGS online when bitcoin was 400-500$ a pop....
Then in May 2017, I went to purchase some more things and noticed the .XXX of a bitcoin I had left in coinbase was now worth 200$++!
This is what got me into investing originally! I saw the rise and needed to get in...
If only I picked up a few BTC the summer before.... or like 100 ether for 1300$ lmao.
