Well, I don't think slot machines are more boring than a computer screen.
Of course, in an online game you have a lot more betting options (double or split the amount, odds, win chance and others).
However, nothing... nothing beats the thrill of winning a jackpot (or dreaming of winning) and seeing the machine drop countless coins "all over you".

As this pandemic goes leave, I'm sure the casinos will get back to full. Online gamblings will continue to be accessed much more than before, but wil not steal customers from "conventional" casinos.

Sometimes if you spend too long in front of a computer screen a little bored will always be there but for us there is no choice because it is the pandemic that limits us in activities including slot machines outside.

People can get addicted to tiktok, its because it only requires 5 second attention span and its set to music so its a pretty sure winning formula. They get giant viewing figures and its probably very profitable advertising in that demographic but it could also be described as addictive in that particular way. Anything at all that normally is fine even healthy can become a negative if repeated without reason, eating obviously can result negatively if overdone even exercise. I've heard of a medal winner reducing themselves below 1% body fat till they wore even their heart muscle out and stressed themselves into an early grave in their twenties just from constant exercise and the endorphins that gives can be addictive.
Addiction is certainly not the exclusive domain of gambling and drinking, its best to learn to step away and do other things on most activities imo

Pandemic has brought everyone into online. That might be into games, social medias like youtube, tiktok, instagrams, facebooks and etc. The lockdown has locked everyone not only inside their houses but has locked everyone spend hours and hours of time into mobiles on online platforms. Youngsters from age 15 to 25, are mostly addicted in online games, gambling and etc which is really diverting them to experience the real world outside.

I would prefer gambling and losing some money but I would never install tiktok on my phone I can't understand how can people enjoy that stuff, it's full of cringe!

Nvm that, I play online games and is around the age you've specified above and i wouldn't call it being addicted but rather having fun for a few hours.
Gambling is however another issue where addicted people are always losing and trying to recover their loses.

So, even though we say it is for our health, sometimes mental health overcomes the fear of pandemic, there are many like my wife that reached a certain level where they may say "I rather take the risk of getting infected and still go outside just to keep my sanity" and that is in hundreds of millions at this point.

Everyone has adjusted to working at home, those jobs that can be done through computers and by working at home. But there's a labor force that cannot be sent home and it has to be in the premises of the company. I don't know but most of them are required to go to their job and company for the production or any type of work that has that kind of setup. And for your wife, I'm sure that many of the teachers have adopted online too, even if many of them are not really on this setup, there are now online classes. If you're going into debt then don't add another problem that might caused you like in gambling, do not gamble if you're already in that trouble.
