So you are not into the crowd of real gambling and the tense is more intense in real gambling. Online gambling is just like simply peaceful gambling at your own comfort. I am allowed to gamble in real life.The law allows it and my age as well.
So I wouldn't say people only gamble online because it is illegal in their jurisdiction.
A big factor might be convenience.Why shall I dress adequately and go to a Casino full of wanna-bes and snobbish characters when I can just sit at home in front of the pc with a bottle of beer and some potato chips and do the same stuff?! Sometimes you're not in the mood to go out, or just doesn't want other people to recognize you visiting a gambling house.
