I think you should diversify your portfolio would be better. Bitcoin has expired, transaction costs are high transaction time long. Some of the more potential Altcoin in the future such as Ripple, Litecoin, Nano ... etc. These coins can replace Bitcoin in the next 5 years. So if you hold Bitcoin, you will probably lose money in the future.

i think diversifying your money in different kinds of coin is a good idea, i had once invested huge in a particular coin and along the line it sank with my money. so going into any other coin would be a good idea, you can't trust most of them though so always do your home work before investing in any coin.

The old good rule of investors is - do not put all the eggs in one basket. If you invest exclusively in bitcoin, the risks of losing your investment
or earn a lot of money are greatly increased. If you invest in bitcoin and in  few altcoins, then the profit may decrease, but the risks of losses too.

If you're diversifying into other cryptos, you're really not diversifying at all. You're just going to end up losing money when the entire market crashes, so you have to seek real diversification. That would mean buying stocks, bonds , etc. Something that isn't crypto is what you're going to have to seek.

So yeah, I'd diversify if you're going for an investment for yourself.

I think this is just about Cryptocurrency base of a topic we may never know the future of other Coins but I am pretty sure that bitcoin is still going smoothly and strongly, And buying stocks, And bonds doesn't have a 100% accountability that you can earn from it and will also not gonna end up losing money towards it, Just like in the Cryptocurrency investment there are still negative traits you can see by investing in stock market, I really think that Cryptocurrency market are only faster and sometimes unpredictable at the same time but there is a larger chance that you can profit fast that the stock market.

You can always allocate more capital in Bitcoin while still having some altcoins on the side. Bitcoin will always be the better investment option, but it's never good to go all-in on just one cryptocurrency. If you don't diversify there's a high chance that you could miss out making some profits in the future (depending on the altcoin you have on your portfolio).

In such speculative market as the crypto market I believe it's always better to diversify. Just remember not to gamble your money in shitcoins, do your research and read a lot.

This one i guess is quite simple to the most of you. Recently i am kinda feeling that the smart thing to do would be stop growing my portofolio and start to look bitcoin as the only crypto investment for me.

well, when the bitcoin price rises the altcoins also rise in the ALTCOIN/USD pair and fall into the BTC/ALTCOIN pair, but in time the BTC/ALTCOIN pair recovers and rises and you get many bitcoin and converted to usd you stay with huge profits. of course it can happen that you bought an altcoin and that altcoin drops to 70% of its value causing you to lose money and time.

by that I mean the following, is the best option to you if you buy and hold bitcoin for long time. because this will save you the stress of checking prices all the time... you know that bitcoin is limited and has had a lot of adoption, so the price will raise in the future.

you should certainly diversify whenever you are making an investment. but remember that diversifying doesn't mean you should buy altcoins! diversification can mean investing in other things, such as Gold for example. you should always stick to less risky and trusted investments as much as you can.

Considering the volatile behavior of the market, I would go with diversification with at least 10 to 20 alternative options in terms of investment but since Bitcoin has high market utility value, I would keep it in comparatively higher quantity to utilize it as a payment system. Relying on the Bitcoin is risky if someone is willing to earn gains from it.

Its kinda hard to invest on altcoins today since their value is very volatile. I have many erc 20 coins on my ethereum wallet and its value was already at 3k$ but the red market is still a nigthmare and today the value of my coins in my portfolio is 1300$. The only surviving cryptocoin is bitcoin since after the huge drop its value has stabilized around 9k$ to 10k$. So I guess it is safe to invest in bitcoins right now than to invest on alts.
Yeah  there are lots of ICO’s started their free sale you can invest them because ICO’s whose working product is very profitable once  crowd sales completed you can earn much than bitcoin can offer because coins  with  valuable products is never affected with  volatility.

It depends on the rest of your portfolio, doesn't it? If you've been chasing ICO's, you might be better off just sticking to bitcoin.

But there are some alts that are exceptionally promising and it makes sense to hold them as a hedge if bitcoin goes wrong.

You do not need to use only one cryptocurrency. There are many cryptocurrencies that can bring a greater income than Bitcoin.

it is very risky to have only one cryptocurrency in your portfolio.
But Bitcoin is godfather, so can risk your money on that. but to stay safe better invest in other stable crypto currencies as well

By reason of the fact that a man is not suppose to have just one line of income incase something goes wrong with one business, you can support yourself with another one. So diversification is a key to financial independence and growth. Don't invest only one coin.
