I saw this post about a week ago, and I also came across a thread about the scam's details. I believe the victims have learned their lesson and will avoid any form of business that does not give them full control over their assets; that's why anything that takes control of your funds away from you should be avoided.
I can only help the victims by wearing my signature and personal text, which I am already doing for the time being.

Everyones aware of "not your keys, not your coin," and they invested only what they could afford to lose.
By holding charity auctions, yall are essentially reducing the impact of the loss on the victims,
but it does not change the fact that they were aware of the risks and made the decision to invest.
Charity should not be used as a means of absolving individuals of their personal responsibility.
It should be viewed as a way to provide support and assistance to those in need.
