its a good idea but will require thorough investigation in each on every entry added on your database, you dont want an innocent people posted there. Valid Proofs with screenshot, web archive and forums post.

This site out or nah?

It will come soon and a form to already submot scammers will come today.

Also to all Legendary and Hero members interested: You will have the possibility of getting an account that can submit scammers without approval. Please pm me if interested
Non approval not a good idea. There is may trolls that are high ranks on this site.
Also anyone can buy hero or legend accounts pretty cheap to smear peoples rep.
Also depending on where you live doxing is illegal so you will have to make sure people arent posting home addresses ssn's family member info.
But thats only if your in a country you can be charged with hosting dox data.

You could ask theymos to integrate the site into bitcointalk. You will get a lot of visibility, and hundreds upon thousands of users calling and editing your database.

However you need the site to look good and function despite people trying to manipulate the database. You could try a blockchain approach.

That's right. Also I would like to be allowed to crawl some stuff like scam accusations so they can be saved in the databased. How should I contact him best?

I don't think theymos would cooperate for this project since he is busy for another things here in this furom and maybe the best thing you can do for now is to ask those moderators about some scamming incident issue here, or much better for you to sig up some dead scam threads so you would see for your self the past scam issue right here.

This is extremely advanced. I really doubt this was already there. Also it doesn't matter Cheesy

If the database is 'open' that means anyone will be able to add and edit entries? I find it highly problematic - this tool can be abused and used as smearing tool to discredit business/personal opponents.
How exactly you want to monitor and moderate accusations - and verify which are solid and real, when anyone can add something to this database, without being verified first?

Of course not everyone can write to it without verifying that they were scammed.

What is the open scammer database?
The open scammer database will be a website where you can search for emails, websites, Bitcointalk users, Skype accounts and so on. The website then checks this data against a huge database of accounts and algorithms and then says if it is safe to trade with the person you searched. You will also be able to submit scammer reports and positive trading feedback.
I like the way you have elaborated stuff "website then checks this data against a huge database of accounts and algorithms and then says if it is safe to trade with the person you searched" lol, nothing fancy really. You store email addresses of a scam artist into your database and on "true" search results you display them with a fancy message "Do Not Deal With them".The idea is nice, except scammers are smart enough to use different set of information for every scam the attempt espeically if they see such this exists.

Someone's already tried this.. but nobody really goes to these sites.. your main challenge is getting people to notice it because there's
always a vast abundance of scammers in bitcointalk alone! :DD
It would still be a pretty useful resource if it could be maintained properly for a long time. I'm just thinking that it would be easier to find patterns to connect certain scammers aliases.

The main issue though is that good scammers will use different methods to avoid detection, so even if one of their aliases ends up in this database, they just switch to another one. Most scammers have built a number of fake personas to avoid detection and to switch if needed.

The site will use machine learning. It will learn itself to find patterns to identify scammers. It's not only a database.

Well.. do you have a prototype or something? At least a background? You can't just ask for donations before showing anything.. lol.

I already got one donation Cheesy. But yeah. I have a lot of projects using machine learning. Also the coming soon page is up now Cheesy Some infrastructure is up, too. For example one server only for the database, one server for the web frontend and the nameservers. Our page can be found at https://osdb.pw . There will also come a download of the database in text format if someone wants to analyse all data we have. That download will contain our whole database but system related stuff.

It is a great idea to launch this type of website as now a days user are always in a hurry and want everything to be done very fastly and easily so that they can do maximum work in the less time.........so if a user can get all the stuff to done at one place that he/she wants to do online can prefer that place.......but to get a better response for the website the website should have a attracting things that gets the attention of the users & website should allow the user to access there database more easily & securily. Then this idea will be a great idea!!!

Well... Ad banners may be bidden for if enough donations come together. Also I just hope that some people will submit scammers and some people will use it to check accounts. Also I doubt someone has created something like this. This will use AI and machine learning technology to identify scammers itself, too.

I haven't seen anything like this before but that's not saying it doesn't exist. I think it's a good idea and it should help people avoid scammers. Once you have a good database it'll be easy to find people via bitcoin addresses, emails or whatever.
