What have happened with Shadow market? SDC project.
That promoted this as something that will change the world.
I didn't believed but i'm curious what will become more valuable "regular bazaar" of "dark bazaar"

Are there any other projects such as this?
I remember talks before but i didn't thought this will see the lights of day as many other project.
Almost every anoncoin in ALTS has promised decentralized buying platforms..
you can find more infos on this great project here: https://openbazaar.org/

that's from the same developpers who made darkwallet..

Do we need to download a software for this marketplace to work? Sounds kinda fishy to me. Why isn't it just an online service for us to conduct business? And how does OpenBazaar make money if there are absolutely no fees involved?
yes you need to install it on your computer. it's completely decentralised.

Why this topic not booming? I thought this can bring bring BTC on main world scene.
I don't see also confirmation is this even legit site or phishing? This should be a major news?
Or i missing something again..

I was major news two years ago, is great they opened this website but it wont catch buzz or fire at this point, they  took too long.  Plus they need lots of funding to compete with other marketplaces.

It's legit.
But it uses now Bitcoin testnet.
When it will be on Bitcoin Mainet (real Bitcoins) it will be a major news.... but you can test it now...
I Myself, I use it ... I installed OpenBazaar Server on my Rapsberry Pi2/Raspbian and OpenBazaar Client on Windows7/64 bits.... it's fun and looking good...
Don't hesitate to try it...

Super excited and attentively been following this for a while. Looks a great piece of work in progress coming along. The possibilities are endless with a legitimate decentralized open-source marketplace. Who knows what interesting items from around the world and specific region/area items will be made available.

After reading the blog, just noticed the bring up disputes with a moderator if the vendor doesn't send your item/product or you have issues with your order. Great to see another added layer of if you could so can call it customer service.

as I understand it, the "moderators" are actually just escrows. and they're just normal users (they don't work for OpenBazaar).
make sense because the whole decentralized thing would be a lie if they're holding people's funds.

Is the project finished ? If not then what's the point of releasing anything on the first place ?

Have you heard of beta testing? There's only so much the developers can reenact to test for bugs or glitches.

This is a good example of the kind of thing only bitcoin can make real. I'm sure I'll be a customer.

Yes. I find bitcoin something that is so much more than a currency or way to make money; but only if people do things with it, like OpenBazaar did.

check it out there are sister sites they use but you do need the software right now till they see how well it goes, i did read some place they have plans for a off line version, im sure if it goes over good and stays on the legal side well see web sites like online wallets doing it . you won't need the software if i understood how it was explained a few months ago,

Even if the service is decentralized, they can still be shut down if the team of developers are targeted by law suites. < Brian Hoffman > OpenBazaar has the potential to turn into another Silkroad and the authorities will look for someone to be the scapegoat. Amir Taaki and his team should create something like this anonymously and push it onto the internet as was done by Satoshi Nakamoto with the Bitcoin protocol. If there are no head to be chopped off, the decentralized service would survive, but I doubt if this will succeed.
Unfortunately your right in terms of OB chance of getting shut down in the future if it turns out to be Silkroad 2.0 as well. I don't think it will be possible to make it anonymously ones its on the internet as sooner or later, criminals will find about it as well so best way I think is to acquire 24/7 moderators in which will ban or delete such sales the moment someone connects or open OB software on their computers.

I have thought about this too.  It is very cool that they are allowing anything to be sold and it is open sourced and decentralized but I cannot help but think that it could go the way of Silkroad.  I hope this is not the case as this site is a savior for those of us that pay hundreds of dollars a month to Ebay in fees.  The concept is great and has been in the works for a long time with very talented developers.

there  was something they said about silkroad, the dev said they are fully against any kind of illegal trading using it if they see it they plan to try and stop it, they want it for bitcoins , now if they mean that or do it, is, another mater, time will time.

you can down load the software now i did and set it up it on that page or link there is a download for it and once it goes full scale they did say there will be some one else as a third like escrow a few month back once it's fully working with everything some one even had  it on a 21 bitcoin thing in beta, I've been following it for a few month now . they said something about a off line version later on, someplace else .

I Just happen to check it out, it is a lot like eBay, Amazon with out the BS fees but you pay with bitcoins. i only linked it because it is up now or you can set up your own stores and sell there for nothing but need a lot of trust in others till they completely finish it.") so be careful  like with anything, it just another way to beat out Ebay etc ... there fees are getting out of hand imo.
