there are still other cryptocurrency apart from bitcoin. they are called altcoin. since you said you are new to cryptocurrency. I will advise you to go online and read more about them generally. trading other cryptocurrency is as risky as trading bitcoin too so you need to understand the risk involve too. ETH seems to be the strongest among altcoin so if you wanna buy but note that its also above $700 now. if you want to invest in other altcoin apart from ETH i will advise to do your research well before investing on them. any coin you see on this board is altcoin.

I am really sorry to all for writing my post in Caps... I apologise.... and thanks to all for spending your valuable time to reply to my thread.... thanks for useful info.... And I am really new to cryptoworld just a zero all I can say....
That's better, sort of.

I would suggest checking out an exchange like Yobit.net (but be careful if you actually use them).  You'll see TONS of altcoins on the market, with all of their prices.  They're priced in bitcoin, btw, not fiat.  I'd also suggest being very careful, because a lot of what's on the market is total garbage and not worth buying.  Most of the altcoins are referred to as "shitcoins" and for good reason.  The shitcoins that go for 0.00000001BTC or thereabouts will never be used for anything, and no one wants them.  Plus you'll have a hard time selling them, because the markets are so thin.

Most people here would advise you to stick with bitcoin, and that's what I'd say too.  It might seem expensive, but you don't have to deal in whole bitcoins.  You can buy tiny fractions that suit your budget.

As there are so many Altcoins now, so it is difficult to search and pick the best. Apart from Bitcoin other cryptocurrencies i will suggest you to invest in Altcoins that really has potential to grow and can survive in this competitive market. Few Altcoins that I actually trust in are Ethereum, Neo, Sonm, Datum, Red Pulse, Prl, and the new upcoming project that is KYC Legal, all of these project has the true potential to survive in 2018 and will deliver unpredictable profit in near future.

Since you are new to crypto, go through coinmarketcap.com. All altcoins growth data is screened including bitcoin. Each altcoin has its growth trend. Just study the coins and their growth. Choose the best coins you have studies upon and invest. You will find cheap valued coins which would give you a decent profit. All the best.

The cap makes your post hard to read. Desist from such a style of writing.

There are over 1300 cryptocurrencies now with some worth a buy and others just purely worthless and shitcoins. You can check this up on www.coinmarketcap.com. There also you will find a list of exchanges where these coins are sold and bought. This is an easy way to start. OP, while investing, look for coins in the list of 1-100 on the chart and with high marketcap.

There are hundreds of different coins, alternative coins (altcoins) to Bitcoin. You really need do some research before investing - take a look at coinmarketcap.com which will list all the coins and tokens.
Don't worry about the cost of Bitcoin, whether you buy $5 or $10000 worth, it's still investing in it.

Good luck!

You need to join an exchange in order to trade or buy any of the cryptocurrencies.
By the way, to invest in Bitcoin, you don't need to see its price. It is not compulsory to buy a complete Bitcoin at a time if someone wants to invest in it. You can buy as much as you can afford. If you have 200$ then you can also buy Bitcoins worth of 200$. So there is no point in not buying it because it is expensive.

Oh yes there are plenty of them. All you need to do is find a good exchange where you can buy these coins. Preferably any one among the big bits. Bittrex, Binance and Bitfinex. But most importantly you need to find the currencies on which you can place your bid. I think for a long term investment top currencies like Ethereum, Ripple and Neo will be something great to start with. As you go deep into crypto you will understand on your own which is the best that suits your requirement.

You can check all cryptocurrencies here:
https://coincodex.com/

If you want to buy altcoins I suggest you an exchange such as Binance or Bittrex. For fiat use Kraken or Bitstamp.

There are 900 other coins and about 80 coins are being launched every single week so in order to determine the best investment opportunity, you have to consider many other factors instead of just focusing on the price of it. Do not invest in any other coin blindly and spend as much as time in doing the deep research about every coin if you are considering investing in that particular coin. Investing in Bitcoin might give you more returns as compared to that of investing in any other coin with less price.

You can get on other alt coins by trading your current BTC with those. You must have converted your fiat money to BTC after which you can initiate a transaction with other alt coins in terms of converting your BTC to their coin base.

In cryptocurrency many altcoins are good potential in the market. If you want to invest in other altcoin. You should analyse the cryptocurrency strategy and blockchain. Because before to invest you should know how to works in cryptocurrency. Then you can choose which one is comfortable to your investment. So you should gain more knowledge in this platform. After that you should invest in altcoin.

First of all you should not make a topic like this, in caps lock, makes no sense. Second of all, theres many cryptocurrencies apart from bitcoin, those are called altcoins. To be able to buy some alt coins usually you wanna start by trading fiat for bitcoin for example at coinbase. After that you should choose which coin you want to obtain. After choosing, send your bitcoins to one of the exchanges that trade the coin you chose. Then you simply trade your bitcoin for the altcoin you want at said exchange.

I recommend that you check coinmarketcap.com to get to know the different crypto currencies.
