The bitcoin ATM seems neat but whatever happened to the bitcoin debit card?!

You are not supposed to mention that here.

you know something we don't?

Might be Bitcoin ATM (launching on the 2nd).

It isn't "launching on the 2nd".  There will be a demo (for a select group of people) of a machine you put bills in and it transfers them to a bitcoin account.  There is still no word on how they will deal with government regulation or when there will be one available to the public.

EDIT - Acutally someone else already presented a working machine in February anyway - http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-57570925-38/need-bitcoins-this-atm-takes-dollars-and-funds-your-account/

Thanks OP just invested life savings

I have already invested all my life savings + very small loan + I am investing most of my every paycheck into Bitcoins and I am going to do so in a future too. Offcourse im just in my twenties, so my life savings weren't so big anyway, but nevertheless I can say that I am truly all in with Bitcoin. And I am considering starting Bitcoin startup in near future.
put in last 5 months of my paycheque.. now only like 30% ..  well i have bills to pay..

200$ ? that might be a bit too optimistic . but i see some spikes at 180$ for sure

You know what is really interesting about a BTC ATM? It is like free advertising. Imagine in a large city all the people seeing this BTC thing for the first time and people using it.

This is great news but I do wonder how long the government will let the ATM sit there! Really, I get the feeling they might take it away. The owner in an interview said they already have a legal team and are ready or planning for things. Hopefully those ATM's get to stay out for a while. Will be interesting to see how they are accepted in other countries as well.

Regarding the price going over $200 or $300, it will just take more bad banking news and I have a feeling that is a given...

It's about sharing

200 by may 3 might be overly optimistic, but that bitcoin atm is sexy as hell.

My biggest problem is that I'm worried about the gov't taxing bitcoin earnings when I take profit from mining. (not that I'm against paying taxes on real earnings, just that Canada will not let me write off my expenses (electricity, hardware, maintenance, labour, rent etc...) unless I register an LLC)

I've thought about localbitcoins.com - but an ATM would be much less hassle...

Looking at the 30 day chart on bitcoinity yesterday I could see another spike coming soon reaching for the stars - dwarfing the last "bubble". Wishful thinking or did I glimpse the future?
