did I miss something?
I can't find the number of transactions made by Bitcoin ATM.
https://coinatmradar.com/charts/
I wonder how common / how often people used Bitcoin ATM.

This is good news for all of us, back then in 2017 there were several bitcoin ATMs in my country's shopping centers and now they are gone, because maybe the interest in cryptocurrency in my country is not as big as in America so ATM owners withdraw them. Hopefully in the future there will be more Bitcoin ATMs in the country. me to make it easier for people to make transactions and attract people to use cryptocurrency.

That's because of the regulation.
Bitcoin was and still banned as a payment (money).
In Indonesia, it's a cryptoasset not a cryptocurrency.

South East Asian Country with Bitcoin ATM.

Bitcoin ATM is indeed growing since crypto is getting more attention nowadays, though it's not the same in every country or continent. Probably it's not really profitable in your country that's why it did not last, unlike in America where a lot of ATMs are being installed. But it would be really great to see the growing number of ATMs in different countries (not just in America) even if it won't probably be used by a lot of people.

I like that the number of Bitcoin ATMs continue to increase. It can ease the adoption of Bitcoin on different countries. It seems that there is not many Bitcoin ATMs in Europe compared to America. But I believe that the number of them will increase sharply in there too in the future.

I got no use for btc atm anymore after they have forced kyc in them in our country, and whole europe is coming with us later if they haven't implemented it already. Luckily i can still meet people in person and sell them my btc if i want cash. I am guessing that will get harder as well if the the travel rule is implemented.

in asia only a few and not available in my country and if I want to use it have to go to neighboring countries LOL.
although we can use exchanger to exchange or withdraw with lower fee, an ATM is still needed when conditions are urgent. I am happy to see bitcoin ATMs growing
you said theres a few already ? but its far away or not available on where you lived .  you dont need to travel to other countries because that cost more time and money but you can travel on that specific place within your country where btc atm are located , only if you are really itching to try and use them but if you dont you can also request one to your mayor's or to the merchants around you but dont worry because the btc atm will soon be available on every places soon when btc becomes mainstream .

And maybe once this pandemic is over, we will see more of these bitcoin ATMs as the adoption is growing. And yes, only few crypto users so far used btc ATM. And yes, he is The Pharmacist -

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/finally-used-a-bitcoin-atm-successfully-5262424

Also, there's another one, Peter R way back in 2013.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/so-i-went-down-to-the-bitcoin-atm-today-330720

But honestly, not many really use bitcoin ATM because most of us convert our crypto to fiat with other means like local exchange, p2p or local remittances. Maybe, because the fee is lower than using this ATM and also the convenience from where you are. Sometimes they are not easily accessible. So whatever is near to you, like local exchange, you use their services. Even me, which has been years in crypto, never tried a btc ATM yet.

I live in Bali, a popular tourist spot.
since there are many foreigners here, bitcoin became a payment option for many stores, hotels, restaurants, and more.
there's also a bitcoin ATM placed in a coworking space, about 20 minutes from my house.
but, before I had a chance to try it, our regulation here in Indonesia banned crypto as a payment.
like you have said, maybe I will used it only because I am curious, not because I need to.

Coinatmradar post about that bitcoin atm here:

That is foolishness going to another country just to use ATM Bitcoin?you can purchase Bitcoin all over the world so you have no need to do that stupidity.
Chill bro, most probably deadmousehat is just joking. See the "LOL"? So don't take it seriously Grin. Maybe he only want to share the feeling of not having a bitcoin atm in his country, that's all.

Nope ATm machine is Physical way of accumulating Bitcoin when there are so many ways now to purchase online,You can even buy p2p using
escrow, since there are some trusted account here that willing to be an escrow without any single fee asked.
You're right but if there is one near your area then why not? Grab the opportunity because using a bitcoin ATM is a wonderful experience for sure (actually I'm dreaming of using it someday). That was a proof of a growing community so cherish it.

I'm not surprised there are so many bitcoin ATMs in North America.
In these countries there are too many taxes and options for bitcoin are also a way to ensure their wealth is private and convenient. According to my observation, the proportion of Americans using cryptocurrencies and the mining network nodes of different blockchains is very high. I wonder which companies are behind those ATMs and if they are all legal before the US government.

it's been 1.5 months since this thread created, and now we have 9681 crypto ATM in this world.
almost a thousand in 1.5 months.
but, I wonder how this site gathered the data.

That was certainly great that after a couple of months since the thread that the OP have created, a massive growth have been observed that the numbers of present Bitcoin ATMs world wide is approaching 10,000 which is totally awesome to the fact that this is certainly a good sign that Bitcoin adaption can be clearly seen in many parts of the world because of the presence of this Bitcoin ATMs that can provide convenience to the people around the area and will serve as encouragement for non Bitcoin users to get into engagement on getting into Bitcoin usage and adaption which is really good for the demand and popularity of Bitcoin as a whole.

Looking forward that Bitcoin ATMs will still grow in numbers and be located in every countries around the world for among those numbers indicated are mostly on rich countries where Bitcoin adaptation is already present. May be at the future Bitcoin ATMs will be found even at small countries like mine which would be a great thing to happen.

It is pretty a lot actually, I imagine having a bitcoin ATM but not this soon just after a decade. We also have this in our country but it isn't fully implemented yet, there are some trials still in the making to make it out generally to the public, coz even me that I know about bitcoin I'm a bit confuse about it especially when paying the transaction fee.

but, I wonder how this site gathered the data.
I think it has something to do with some connections, things now are easy to monitor when you have tools. What I wonder is that no one has ever got to use a BATM here in the forum except The Pharmacist, if I'm not mistaken lol. ( Is he the one who drove his bike to get there?) just 70% sure.

It's good news knowing the number of Bitcoin ATMs is growing, but interestingly, most of the Bitcoin ATMs in circulation are in the Americas.
This means that the demand for Bitcoin ATMs in America is quite high, even though the American government is very strict on the circulation of
cryptocurrency. This has not stopped Americans from using Bitcoin. I hope that in the future the spread of Bitcoin ATMs will be evenly distributed
on all continents.

Really is this true? Can't believe these statistics they are just too good to believe. Moreover at the same time I am surprised that with rising number of ATMs US government still hasn't brought a full fledged law for cryptocurrencies and still without the law they aren't banning these ATMs the scenario is entirely different in my country. One exchange tried to put up an ATM in a mall which was consequently seized and the owner of the Company was arrested for Fraud.

I'm glad that the number of Bitcoin ATMs is growing, but sincerely I haven't ever used one because of the high fees.

I mean it is convenient than creating an exchange and going through KYC procedures, but is it really worth the fee? You decide, but for me it isn't. A below 5% fee would be acceptable. Hopefully if the trading volume increases we will see a reduction on commissions.

Recent statistics provided by CoinATMRadar now show that the number of bitcoin ATMs installed worldwide have surpassed 8700. Since July 1, 234 new bitcoin ATMs have been installed and as of July 12, the values have reached 8,724 globally. Out of this value, 6493 bitcoin ATMs are located in the united state while Genesis Coin remains the highest producer of Bitcoin ATM machine (3027) https://coinatmradar.com/countries/

The diagram makes it strikingly clear that while 'globally' is technically correct, it's not used in the way one would expect. What I mean is that the vast majority of ATMs is in North America, then just 14% in Europe and almost none in other countries and on other continents. I think that ATMs are useful just to show that they are there and people can always exchange their BTC for fiat or vice versa if they want to. It raises awareness and adds to the status of Bitcoin as something serious. However, many experienced Bitcoin users would never use an ATM because there are much cheaper ways of performing the exchange. That being said, maybe some ATM providers will finally realize that they can lower the fees and still get a lot of money, while also attracting way more users than their competitors.

Actually, I have no interest to use Bitcoin's ATM to take my money through it since they charge 8-10% as a fees that I think that is really huge amount. I just comfortable to withdraw my money to my banking account directly through an exchange, because as of now almost all crypto-exchanges are allowed to withdraw/deposit bitcoin to our bank account which have a low fee.

I do not understand why to use bitcoin ATMs, when you can transfer bitcoins to a regular Fiat at any exchange and withdraw them through a regular ATM with a minimum Commission. I see the use of bitcoin ATMs only in order to increase the status of bitcoin itself and to increase their number. But it is certainly more profitable to use Fiat ATMs to cash out your crypt.
