Their new platform, tZERO, has a ton of features like being able to handle millions more orders per day, 24-hour trading, and a lot more that we touch on in our blog post about Overstock becoming a blockchain company:
Bit.ly/OverstockTransition

Time will tell if Overstock can be successful in the competitive cryptocurrency market!

A little greedy, does any ICO need $500 million?

You must be an accredited investor to participate. tzero is legitimately a security

I see no tzero currently trading.  Guessing us little fish won't get to participate in this one?  Suppose you could buy OSTK stock, but already looks very richly valued.

Very ambitious indeed. But that will be enormously hard to hit the hard cap. Will follow the progress

Now the Overstock ICO should already have happened, why is there no information available on the forum? Very strange. 500 Million shoudln't go unnoticed, nor would a flop.

This is a unique idea but I wanted to know who are the people behind it? Are they trustworthy and have a strong background? I know that they are from overstock but who specifically? They should be transparent about them for us to trust their project. But I'm looking forward to it. Seems quite interesting.

Nice that means the big company just interested to do an ico to grab our money. Remember they are all blaming ico and this time they are interesting to make their own ico and thy must a shame with it.

Their stock has soared 100% almost in the last month. The executives made a lot of dough from just this news. And they will sell coins, and run away with those coins. This is getting plain ridiculous very quickly.

ICO has been flooding, both good and bad companies can issue ICO, so the second set of strict rules is still very necessary.

I thought the SEC laid down strict rules to not allow serious companies to do ICO's. Maybe they would go through proper SEC filing etc.

So they would be competing with other established traditional exchanges.

Seems a good experiment to chip on the monopoly of Wall Street.

Where can I invest?

I don’t think their ICO starts until approximately mid November.

Sound. Fury. Signifying.
Yes i saw this a few days ago, they are insane, i am sure that they will not even reach 1/10 of that amount, i haven't seen any ico who could reach that amount of money before since i am in this forum.
Trezos raised more than 200 million dollars but it was because they raised that money before bitcoin jumped from $4200 to $6200 in just two days. They are crazy, of course.

Crazy like a fox perhaps. I think they're going to blow the barn doors off, and my evidence for that assertion is the clear understanding of hype and mental manipulation displayed in their marketing material. Yes, this is nothing but a massive cash grab, but it's going to be an extraordinarily effective cash grab; one of the greatest in history.

What was Overstock again? if I could sell my activity tokens for approximately $1,000,000 it would be great, lol stocks are controlled by governments, they are centralized, what we need is Bitcoin, it doesn't care if I'm a low life beggar or not, it allows me to send and receive transactions with a low fee. even after Bitcoin price hits $40,000 the system will remain the same. they offer coins, can we exchange them for cash on centralized exchanges?

Overstock is an American competitor to Amazon. They sell bedding and stuff online.

Back in 2013, they got excited about cryptocurrency and started allowing people to buy stuff with bitcoin (via bitpay). This year they added the ability to pay with some alts as well.

Looks like they've decided to diversify and make their own coin - which people would presumably use to buy stuff on their website.

The SEC will be stepping in to regulate ICOs soon. This is reaching a tipping point when established companies are participating in ICOs and want investment money without giving any shares out to investors.

Haven't they already stepped in? I've read articles about ico projects getting contacted by the authorities.
