This is the advantage of the Bitcointalk Forum with Reddit, the BTT Forum has succeeded in expelling Shitposters and Spamming by implementing a merit system. When the forum can't accept Shitposter presence, Reddit seems to facilitate their presence. These two platforms are very different in class, members who join here must avoid useless posts or post nonsense if they want to get merit as one of the rank up conditions besides the amount of activity. We are fortunate to be among people who educate each other through quality posts, a lot more knowledge can be gained here than neighboring platforms which still accept Shitposter.

This prompted me to ask these questions;
1. What is shitposting?
2. What should we check out for in a post, such that when we see it we can confidently call the post a shit post
3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?

Shit posting is just some nonsensical comments that probably don't relate to the topic; maybe the commenter never read the topic before making his or her comment, or maybe he or she is just purposely spamming the thread or comment section with some links or names to the brand they are promoting, or just some general irrelevant speech.
They both have some differences: spamming is when a user sends some nonsense comment to you via DM or drops a comment on the thread, while the nonsensical comments are the shitpost. So, when someone is shitposting, indirectly or directly, they are spamming. I'm not surprised that there's a job like that because there are spammers everywhere on the social network; even on this forum, on YouTube, you will see some spam messages littered in the comments section of a video, both on Facebook, Twitter, and some Telegram groups. It's just everywhere.

We basically mean by sheetposting those who post a large number of posts over a period of time and the post quality is poor. Those who do sheetposting are simply called spammers. Those who post most of the sheets do not include any information in their posts and nothing can be learned from them, these absurd posts are called sheet posters. There is no difference between sheetposters and spammers, I think they are the same, because that's basically what spammers do. Also a wise person will never post a shitpost and identify himself as a spammer, so we will refrain from such shitposts and spamming will not be done at all.

In those type of jobs they just want you to start spamming certain subreddits with their links.

Just think of it like what bounty hunters are paid to do.
Exactly  and though I haven't used reddit but only heard about it without even been bothered on wanting to know its essence but I see no reason why one should  be paid for shit posting when such a person can do better and if there is any reputation  to uphold, I think jobs like that will only end up messing ones reputation and possible ban but just as I mentioned earlier  that I'm not familiar  with reddit, I don't know the essence for them paying for shot post but whatever the reason might be, I think its bet known to them and a quick reminder that shit posting and spamming the board is highly frown at over here and you shouldn't even make any attempt  towards that.
Reddit is the epic center of such spam activities flooding the section is links and from doing that their paid just like the spam that appear in our email someone is paid to generate and send those spam emails.
We have some companies who specialize in that kind of job,  having tons of accounts just to spam when the job comes,  so I am not surprised at why we see such spam jobs advertisement but just know that such jobs only pay for being lazy so the payment may be pine nuts.

You're just contradicting yourself OP..you actually brought to our notice - which ofcourse everyone knew already - that the forum frowns at shit posting... C'monnn, I thought that's supposed to mean that you know exactly what it is?? What's the point of asking the first question??
Well, there aren't much differences than similarities - spamming is just posting repeatedly the same core ideas that has been posted, known and adopted already... Meanwhile, shit posting is the intermittent posting of already spammed ideas (might be something even more stupider) in a very daft form ... Sometimes, those prats even feel incumbent about their deeds..., It's that crazy!

Shitposts are posts that make no sense and usually have no relevance to the topic being discussed. That’s why they are regarded as low value posts. There is a thin line between shitposting and spamming. You will find this thread very interesting;
Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny

May there never come a time in bitcointalk where spammers and shitposters get paid to post, it will be a hell of work for the moderators.

HeHe. Someone spitting facts here. Well, I was also a bounty hunter and experienced the whole journey but left it due to a lot of scams like managers already writing in there a policy that they are not going to be responsible for payout because that's in the hands of the team. This means the risk is 50-50. So I left.

Not, as OP was saying shitposting is banned here on btt but that specific person was asking someone to do that on Reddit so I think that's ok to do. And the posts that bounty hunters used to make do not exactly come under the category of Shitposting if they do their work right. Because when you just shitpost most of the good managers like Cryptobrainbross (I think I spelled it wrong) etc. are good at catching shitposter even they do not pay those hunters and also ban them after warnings too. Well, I don't know if they are bringing any bounties now but back then they brought some good projects.

You wanted to know what "shit posting" means. But earlier, you mentioned that people don't like it in this forum. How do you know that?

Anyway, let's not worry too much about that. My message to those who do "shit posting" here is that there are bad results that come with it. It affects the forum negatively, especially for all the members in the community. Try to share posts that help people learn or feel inspired when they read them.

Both spamming and shitposting are bad habit and should be prohibited. But I think Spamming is worst than Shitposting. When yyare posting something irrelevant and off topic that means you are doing Shitposting. But for spamming you just spreading your probably fake message to everywhere and breaking rules.
Actually shitposters are being paid because they just want some workers who just need to spread their scams. Because no genuine project will hire shitposters. And they don't care if your account is getting banned or locked. So never do this types of jobs and always be effective and work in a legit way. And sometimes you will not be paid for these types of work because scammers just steal funds but never pay.

1. What is shitposting?

Anywhere you see shit posting; it simply means that the hiring project does not care the manner of approach you take to market their links, or presales or services; they just want their project name, links etc plastered all over reddit. No constructive post is needed; no sanity is needed; just post every topics or threads or comments about their services thats all.

Quote
2. What should we check out for in a post, such that when we see it we can confidently call the post a shit post

Shit-posting are easy to identify.

1. Off topic - either you are talking about A or B or Z; they do not care; they simply copy and paste their contents.
2. They are usually a one line or one sentence comments/posts with links etc
3. They are easily identifiable because the sentence means nothing.
4. They are most likely spamming in numbers (more than 1 comments).

Quote
3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?

There is a thin line difference; but i am not sure if it means much anyway. In a shitpost; there is a target audience; it could be a presale post, or crypto community or football community or a metaverse subreddit / topic. Meanwhile for spamming; it doesn't matter if its a political post or crypto or religious post; they post their contents everywhere n large numbers.

Reddit is one of the apps I know that people can easily shit post without any issues whether they will get ban or not. Many scammers had been using it as a medium to scam people and I will not be surprised if one is paid to shit posts. No one knows the intension of the employer so we can't judge by the cover. It may be that the work of the shit posters are just to stop fud or do something of the nature of just posting without any relevance. The interest of the employet may be to just make a project community active or something similar to that.

I found a job advert that is willing to pay a shit poster. I was surprised because shit posting is heavily frowned at in this forum. So, there is a place shitposters are needed in reddit.

I was about asking on which platform before you made clarification on where it belongs, am very sure that no reputable platform will wanted to pay for such, if you ever again come across such online then be very careful they are nothing but scam, you will advertise rubbish for them and they will not pay you, I've not seen people being paid for offering nothing or rubbish.

1. What is shitposting?

Nonsense, off topic, off points and garbage post

2. What should we check out for in a post, such that when we see it we can confidently call the post a shit post

Any post that passes nothing as information from one end to the other is shitpost

3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?

When you shitpost then you just spam.

3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?
1.) Shitposting is all about posting content that has low value or no value at all or you can say that a person is posting gibberish that doesn't contribute to anything at all. 2.) How to tell if it is a shitpost is explained above which is about the post having very low quality or no value at all. 3.) The difference between the two is that spamming is about posting in a row meanwhile shitposting is about posting low quality posts. Anyway, some posts when a person is spamming could be of good quality but it is posted right after or before a post that has been posted not long ago. One more thing, doing both won't do any good for your acoount and for yourself. Also, many people doesn't like that or doesn't want that where almost all of it are reported to mods and get deleted. Hope that will explain something to you OP.

Shitposting and spamming both have the same meaning, the merit system that is implemented in the forum aims to minimize members who post trash or nonsense that has no benefit or which is more commonly known as shitposting and spamming. Inappropriate posting types like shitposting, spamming and off topic have no place on BTT forums anymore. Now that those whose habits are hard to change have a place to breed, they can get paid for posting trash every day. Thankfully the shitposter you're referring to has nothing to do with the forum, So I don't think there's any connection here at all because this happened on Reddit.

[Hiring] Shitposting

Yeah the title says it, you get paid when you shitpost.

Requirements

-Your reddit account older that 45 days

-Must have above 70 "comment karma"

-Your account must be able to upvote (make sure you're not "upvote banned")

This prompted me to ask these questions;
1. What is shitposting?
2. What should we check out for in a post, such that when we see it we can confidently call the post a shit post

Since the quote is mentioning Karma I believe it's from reddit, so when I was still hanging on Reddit, shitposting was a little bit different from what is considered as spamming in this forum. Spamming in Bitcointalk is (IMO CMIIW) when a user posting a one liner meaningless reply repeatedly to many posts/thread. While a shitpost in reddit is replying to a post with some offensive opinion that the shitposter think it's funny when someone is triggered  by his post, more like trolling.

This kind of practice paying someone to shitpost is not very rare I think on reddit, place is full of shitpost actually.

It is about Reddit which has different algorithms and structures than Bitcointalk.

I used to try Reddit but I did not understand how their Karma points work. The Reddit's Karma system is f*** worse than Bitcointalk's Merit system and I am not exaggerating the chaotic Karma system on Reddit.

If you see any people opened some threads which are useless, you can report those topics and leave them to moderators to decide.

A pro spammer can be different than a shit spammer. @actmyname shown you that fact with his experiment.

3. Is there any difference between shitposting and spamming?
Not a slim difference since shitposting is like a nonsense posts across boards and spamming is literally the same. Example therr is a topic you are engage with and someone answer differently and out of it then its a spam. Isnt that a shitposting already cause he doesnt make any sense on his reply.

This is making sense. Bounty hunters do nothing but paste social media links everyday and weeks. If this is only what is called shit posting, it is nice and understandable.

And it has nothing to do with this community though, it's about reddit and so we can't tell which one is shitpost to them or to their admit and it is a big community and perhaps mods and admins are not that strict as compare to our community.
The 3 questions I asked is based on this forum and not redit. I understood that different communities have what they regard as shit. Cantsay mentioned bounty hunting above.

Talking about shitposting and spamming, from my view are the same, they both refer to off topics in deviation from what is being discussed.
