I've eliminated those giant annoying signatures from our thread, not sure what I was thinking at the time. I've noticed there is a serious divide between those with paid signatures and those without them and I'd be happy to work towards a fair compromise.

While I think the signatures were good in bringing a lot of new users to the forum and convincing lurkers to register, I feel that overall they are now starting to have a negative effect if left unchanged. Ive updated our thread to restrict the next term to users with 50+ activity which should eliminate a strong amount of the spammers. If you have other suggestions please let me know and if the staff of bitcointalk would like me to discontinue this I'd be more than willing to comply. Just banning PD signatures per Whisker's suggestion wouldn't really do anything except bring in loads more threads, the only reason why there are few competitors is because our rates are very high.

Thanks
Thanks! I think this thread is pretty much over that you've resolved this, also hilariousandco: I took your advice. ;P

Your signature hurts my eyes as I find the font difficult to read, please change it  Tongue. I think there's always compromises and middle ground to be found with things like this as opposed to outright bans. Now, get reporting spammers and bots  Cheesy.

Oh, and Whiskers I think you need to update you FAQ to accommodate these questions. Been a few threads recently  Cheesy.
I like the new fonts size he made. Like mines for as an example. Smiley

...Since to do have a paid signature, I will say yes lol.
I think it is a good idea, and it is a signature so there should be much regulation over what is in it.  If someone wants to click on it, then do it, if not, then don't.

The only possible regulation I can see is maybe the size of it.  Obviously large signatures that take up a lot space is distracting to the thread.

That's actually a really good idea. I was going to suggest maybe making two pay/posting brackets. One for newbs or newcomers to the deal and one for existing users. You could have maybe newbs/newcomers complete two months before they can move onto the next 'trusted' bracket, but limiting it to 50 activity is probably much better Cheesy.

Anyway, thanks for your compromises, and I'm sure there will be a way to keep the sig deals without having to ban them outright.

I like that the OP has a more annoying signature than my paid signature Cheesy

Annoying? I just like webdesign, k? Tongue

I personally find it both annoying and offensive*, therefore must be banned. And I just like getting paid to post, k?  Grin

*I don't really, but if I did I would just deal with it or ignore you or turn sigs off.

Does anyone know if turning sigs off also turn yours off publicly, or can you still have one that others can still see?
* whiskers75 reminds himself not to feed the trolls.

Why am I a troll or trolling but you're not? This is my point about how people can post crap and spam and troll and have garish signatures but it's seemingly only a problem if you have a paid signature. It's completely hypocritical.
Paid signatures == garish signatures
Unpaid signatures != garish signatures

It's a problem if you troll without a paid signature, too. Stop being deluded.

I've made that argument several times, but I think you need to learn what trolling or a troll is. And stop being hypocritical about signatures.

Dont really see why they need banned. If i make posts i can just as easily make a little money from it. If you dont want to see it you block all the signatures.

Ofcourse the spammers mentioned earlier in this tread is a different story. As long as you dont copy paste your posts or say nothing usefull at all, its fine for me. But after all i have a primedice sig Wink

User settings, Profile looks, Check "Dont show other users signatures". then they wont pop out anymore. Simple as that. Theymos wont take your guy's request since its not valid.
"Kitchen, table, get a fork and then pierce the both of your eyes. Simple as that."   Grin

Thanks for advice, but it's not an option. I want to see signatures, but I don't want to see the purchased crap around them. That's why I'm using proxomitron to filter out formatting from signatures. But it's not a real solution for this problem.

Whats so special about signatures? Its just people asking for BTC and promoting their own business.

Thats enough for me to say, Im not going to let my rep be tarnished by some people who cant check their settings right. Bye. and talk freely about me Smiley

I already have it toggled in Bt++ settings, so no need for me to check my settings. I said nothing about the signature. I agreed to your statement about spammers being morons, instead of getting angry because you are losing out on your pocket money please actually read and attempt to understand my reply.

There's rarely an occasion when you see a thread with a few people in it WITHOUT A PRIMEDICE AD.
These need to go, or at least ban PrimeDice - it's getting out of control, and spambots are signing up just to take advantage of this deal.

Why does it really matter? Why wouldn't people have a paid signature - they get paid to post whether they make 50 posts a month or 2000. As long as it's not spam, then it shouldn't be an issue. Turn sigs off if it's such an annoyance to you.

And do you have any proof of actual spambots, because I haven't seen any?

How can you even be taken seriously in this discussion?

You joined the forum on Nov 20, 2013 and have made 2924 posts... making for over 59 posts a day on average.

Wow at that rate hilariousandco will have the top post count on the forum within a year.  Look out Phin.

What I got passed to well that is quite fast
Ha-ha look out Phin Smiley
