Gays are overwhelmingly Democrat... with very sparse representation in the GOP / Libertarian Party.

I actually put Democrats and GOP in the conservative pile, and Libertarians in the liberal. Conservatives don't want any change, and are both bigoted against something. GOP especially. Libertarians are at the opposite end of the spectrum, and are more liberal than Democrats, in the original definition of the word (democrats are still very anti-drug, for example)

Democrats aren't VERY anti-drug, they are generally fine with selective non-enforcement of drug laws while against changing the laws themselves

Don't even bother trying to put the GOP / Libertarians together, it was well documented how often Ron Paul supporters got into fights and arguments with neo-conservatives in the last election, it's precisely because Libertarians support gay rights and are against war that they were constantly attacked and the neo-conservatives didn't like the way they were muscling into their territory.

You are about to see a wholesale takeover of the GOP by libertarians Keep your eyes peeled, we aren't going to stand for not having a voice, if we are stuck with the two party system, then we will be one of those parties.

Haven't you heard?  The first rule of a despot is to keep the enemy warring against itself, inflame it into bitter factions.

Don't know why you would think so. So far I haven't run into libertarians that were homophobic, and I've ran into a few gay ones. I'm one myself even (though I'm more an anarchist)

You know what'd be really cool? A libertarian gay female atheist as president.

Libertarian and Gay is very rare.... and Libertarian females are rarer still...

As for Palin, I think with all the camera time she would have to do as President, that her eyeball will probably fall out from all the winking. That, or the side of her face will be VERY RIPPED AND MANLY with its own set of pecks.

Now there's a good question who was the last streetsmart candidate ?

As far as palin give her the EPA and we would end nuking Malta for some unknown reason

Hmm safe jobs for palin ...
I'd say soccer mom but there crazy
Postal service .... Ya not gonna work

Here we go underwater basket weaver

No, actually, the postal service is one of those weird US "independant companies" like the Federal Reserve.  But yeah, put Palin in charge of it and tell her to get it shut down, we don't need it anymore.  In fact, she could shut down one agency per year.  Or per month, maybe.

"Another agency in the cross hairs of moose gun..."

Now there's a good question who was the last streetsmart candidate ?

It'd have to be someone that held an actual JOB or two....lawyering doesn't count, neither does campaigning or something called community organizing.

"But I ask you the question - which is the smarter of the two elephants, the one which is having to find ways to feed itself out in the wilderness, or the one which has been taught to climb through hoops in the circus ?"

Which of the elephants could negotiate a deal with the likes of Putin ain't a hoop jumper.

I think Libertarians in general are pretty rare.

No... may be around 5-10% of the US population.

Powell would have been destroyed, his whole family included and his wife (if that story is historically true) was 100% right NOT to let him run. Obama is a democrat, so anything you say against him is racist. This does not work for black conservatives. Quite the contrary.....

His wife repeatedly told him not to run, at various time.

I am of the opinion that anyone who was completely duped by Obama (eg...POWELL) cannot be said to possibly make a good president.

We need people a bit more street smart than that.  Now a Powell/Palin ticket would certainly be ...ah...  amusing....

But no one is street smart anymore (in the political world). "Streetsmartness" is hated by the political elites. It is mocked. It is ridiculed.

Now it is a show. A TV show. Candidates have 30 sec to answer complex questions. They need to be careful of gotchas, if they touch their nose or not on live TV. If they do good then it will prove to the voters they will be able to deal with "real" crisis. They are not afraid of the "jurnolists".

Sham-Wow!
The one who recently told this like it was directly to the media (and I am dubious he would have made a good Prez, but that is for other reasons) was Newt Gingrich.

For me, the only names worth mentioning in the US republican party are Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Paul Ryan.  But, whoever you think is good, take the time to try to find and read some of their actual personal writings, instead of the media fakeness.

Go figure out if they have half a brain.

Palin, I'd put her in charge of the EPA, and tell her to fucking destroy it, lock stock and barrel.  That'd be fun.

Completely agree - getting the same way in the UK.

Here you don't need to be street smart - you need to be academic smart (Oxbridge helps a lot).

But I ask you the question - which is the smarter of the two elephants, the one which is having to find ways to feed itself out in the wilderness, or the one which has been taught to climb through hoops in the circus ? Wink

Having had a bit of experience in this one area.. I'm of the mind that it wasnt clinton, obama, the man in the mirror, or fox new's fault .. If someone had to be blamed it would have to be the ambassador himself ( however hes dead) He gets a security brief EACH AND EVERY DAY and its his responsibility  decide if he needed to call in support ( read Military Evac) he got the security brief ( or didn't depending on who you wish to believe)  and failed to act If he had requested help he would have gotten it 1 way or the other .. the problem was it was never requested. Sadly because of his decision to do nothing ended up costing lives. holding Sr Executive leadership responsible for this is like holding an army general responsible because Sgt flow Joe didn't get a flu shot and got a cold.

To run Hilary, they'll have to divert this and or whitewash it.  I understand that quite well.  They'll have to do something about Hillary's story about the "Anti Muslim Film", but making up reality and pushing it is what these guys do.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/26/cia-operators-were-denied-request-for-help-during-benghazi-attack-sources-say/

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied.

1 problem here.. CIA safe house...  NOT run by the state dept but Run by the CIA ... run by the CIA means its not the determination of an ambassador to make that kind of call
2 different issues here.. the CIA requesting military support isnt the same thing as an ambassador requesting a military evac of personal in a embassy.

the question i would ask here though is how exactly did they figure out it was a CIA safehouse? or did they just open fire where they thought US citizens lived?
I would also point out the guys in the CIA safe house weren't killed.. ( knew how to get out of dodge maybe?)

now let me be clear here i'm not supporting clinton or palin... im just points out a difference here.. ( honestly i think they are both bad choices.. )
and my point is more of we need a set of smarter people running for office then what we have seen lately ... clinton vs palin again will boil down to whom we can 1 stomach more and 2 who doesnt look like the biggest jackass.

re: Powell. not going to play the race card here ( but i'm not very happy about your turn of phrase ) ANY black person that was going to be the 1st president is going to be called every name in the book ( from sale out Down) one of the things myself and most black men learn early is they are going to call you that anyway regardless of what you do or what your education is or how much money you make. If you get mad EVERYTIME your going to spend your whole life fighting an uphill battle.

it still doesnt change that Powell would have made an amazing president.

I'm cutting out some of your post.  I respect your opinion that "Powell would have made a great President", but, you know, a lot of people said that about Obama.  A lot of people were utterly fooled, weren't they?  I think you and me get whomever the powers that be shove at us as acceptable to them as POTUS candidates.

RE the facts of the matter on Bengazi, here is what I boil it down to.

Two real American heros rushed from Point A to B to defend our people being attached by terrorists.  They fought to their death.

Clinton/Obama et all completely ignored this, and the media ignored it, and they set up a complete lie of a smokescreen about some Youtube anti-Muslim video.

To this day they have ignored the 2 who gave their lives defending that post.

Yeah, let's just bash Palin.  Throw in a bash Bush or two.  That'll work.  Okay, also bash Fox News, that always riles up the useful idiots.  Bash the religious right.  Don't forget the Tea Party.  Throw in a story - repeat it about a hundred times - about some Republican that did something against women's rights.  Don't forget to praise Kat Stevens.  Remind everyone over and over about the Great Democrat Leader that Sent the Helicopters in to Kill BinLaden (orchestrated and framed drama for TV).

And keep that pesky Arab film maker...you know, the one that caused the Bengazi riots (NOT) behind bars, okay?
