If you were to restart sports betting again, would consider learning first by betting on paper.
But OP I did not remember talking about how I have quit gambling to restart up again or you mean to say assuming I am to begin betting as a beginner?

I will take it from the above. Lol.
As a beginner at all costs, one would always stand that chance to resolve with its financial potentials looses especially when you engages on some demonstrative exercises towards your endivoirs so, betting on a paper shit as a beginner without staking a fund and could keep my prediction results on track is a buyable and acceptable suggestion OP, I understand that gambling is a game of luck that even a beginner can make a straight winning while the experienced gamblers could be doomed and loosing.  But that does not make a change of illiciting that you do not need to study the gambling networks and its formations on how the games are picked with some strategeous analysis because that lies your confidence even though the game did not countered as predicted.
So playing a demo or playing on the paper and keeping your games on track at which you don't need to loose or win any stake can enhance your gambling experiences after which spending much practical times on a realistic gaming but only that there was no stakes involved.

Hence and afterwards you must have learnt some lessons on what could cause your winning and what you bring you to fail. I love demo practitioner.

Don't joke with my Daughter
Naturally before one goes into gambling there is always a force that drives that person into gambling which is called "Desire" and this eagerness will caused you to go learn lot of things about gambling in order to start playing gamble. In nutshell we don't going back paper betting before going in the real betting but however, gambling is a game of interest and likeness if someone do not develop interest she will never gamble no matter how hard you tried to push that person.
With the look out of things there are people who might not want to go back to paper bet because they always want to start it straight that will be better for them than going through those long processes.

Paper betting refers to participating in sports gambling without fronting any money. The idea is to learn the ropes without actually risking real money.

Well, having to spend time to learn something before doing it is always an advantage to a person or people, but to be honest with you, I see no way betting on paper actually helps a gambler, because there are no technicalities in sports betting, so what exactly is there to learn?

You either risk the money or you are not betting, it's as simple as that, paper betting does not help a gambler learn anything, because that someone won several bets on paper doesn't mean that he or she will also win several bets when money gets involved, I personally remember that most of the time when a sports match is on, or there is a game coming up, I usually in my head choose who my favorite team is, and hope for them to win the game, and sometimes, it does happen that the team I loved and hoped for them to win actually end up winning, and some other times, it turns out that I was wrong, as the team I believed would win end up losing, if I had betted money on this games, It would have been the same, some wins and some losses.
So, of what essence is betting on paper before actually betting real money? When in reality, I don't see how it helps a gambler?.

That good because this will give gamblers experience and learning to be able to make good predictions before actually going to the gambling site to risk their money, especially beginners must know this method to avoid losing too often.
In sports betting, knowledge and experience are very useful so carrying out several activities that can increase experience and develop knowledge is effective.
But unfortunately most gamblers don't care about this because they are too curious and have the ambition to immediately risk money and hope to win.

I never done it before but this is good advice, I loved sports since I was teenager and football was the first sport I liked.
I have watched lot of matches and read lot of information about sports since I was teenager, so there is some knowledge and experience that I can use as basis for making predictions.
Hahaha, I remember betting with childhood friend on football match where the loser had to give up some of his school pocket money.

No!

I know that many people will argue that this is the best way for you to start betting, get to know the games better and learn the best strategies, but I think this is nonsense.
Do you know why?
Because only the psychological pressure of putting in real money will teach a person to play for real.

I agree with your point of view. I don't see anyway where we can feel the real thrill of betting when it is done on paper. There is no psychological trick that can make the person feel it is real.

I also think that the paper method is for the older folks who like to take it slow and steady. As for younger folks, real betting is the fastest way to learn from your betting mistakes an be the best at it.

Paper betting is no fun. I can't do it but doesn't mean I lack the discipline. I would rather do bank roll management using an amount in an afford to lose and start betting a unit or two a day after dividing it by 100.

I would ideally learn to gamble first with a dummy account that would place the bets just the same as paper money but on an app or something to get my bearings on the bets. Its really cool to hear that you can reduce your odds of losing just by being a little bit more responsible with strategy and learning the ropes.

Because only the psychological pressure of putting in real money will teach a person to play for real.
No one will bet, for example, $100 on a real game knowing that they can lose it just because they think that is the best strategy, even if it goes against all predictions.

When placing real money, the probabilities are much more important than any strategy a person makes in a fake game, that's a fact.

Only those who put real money at risk learn to bet for real.

I buy all valid country Gift cards swiftly.
I started betting with odds and I’m not a fan of betting on such much games at a time, and the most games I can have on a bet slip should be 5  but I don’t know for others
And since you’re already comparing this to demo trading, I think it’s not the right thing to do, as basically I think, demo trading is of no use but just to help a trader get familiar with the broker without having to use real money and anyone who ever got confident after using demo accounts would understand that, trading with demo is absolutely a different thing from trading with real cash and same thing might also happen in this type of betting as one might be very good on paper and end up being a flop in real life money account.

Hence I don’t think I might be interested in paper betting but rather head straight to betting with real cash as long as I’m already familiar with the casino.

I learned about sports betting without these tests. I think new bettors or not, don't need a sort of demo account in sports betting. They will feel comfortable and just relaxed betting anywhere since there's no risk money. As a result, they won't learn something about what they're doing.

For preparation purposes, they can risk about $5-10 as a start per match. At least in that way, they will be serious about forming their respective analysis since there's real money involved now on their bets unlike feeling comfortable and might not apply any serious analysis if their bets will be done in a paper betting.

You can kinda do paper betting on your own by noting down your preference on a match and taking a screenshot of it.
Ofc it requires a bit of tracking but I like to do it this way because for me it  matters to get the same odds as in the provider you'll be playing at later, even if at the moment you're out of disposable income that you can feel comfortable to place bets with.

The thing with sites that offer paper betting is that they have slightly better odds sometimes so its easier to get lured in the action through them. An alternative would be to place minimum value bets. It's like 0.2$ or 0.30$ for a minimum bet on most sites. Not 0 but not too high either. So this way it also helps you take it a bit more seriously.

Now, here's the matter here, when they go into the actual gambling. It is not what the expected thing of theirs to happen and that's going to make them surprised with that because the anticipation from doing paper bets is what they have been based of.

But then, after trying the actual thing then it's best to just welcome them to the real thing and the real world with these kinds of bets that they would do soon.

For a started it’s just like a demo trying to explain what some terms means but after that I do not think it will go in a way to help them psychologically when trading with one’s real funds. The paper betting doesn’t comes with emotions so the fun isn’t there and once this person gets to the real one they start to get scared as not to lose money and with this fear one definitely ends up picking panic games or odds and later end up winning.

There is no doubt that this is a good idea, because it allows people to practice more and develop more efficient strategies, for example if a person wants to start betting on the over and under goals market, then that person first needs to identify the leagues that has a lot of goals and the leagues that have few goals and then which are the teams that score a lot of goals and which are the teams that score fewer goals, then that person needs to test betting with little money if they start to see that they are getting it right often then You can increase the amount of money, but if you are on a site like this where the person does not need to use money to place a bet, then this is a very good thing for that person to do all the testing.

also if a person decides to start betting on the card market, then that person should also start researching the leagues in which there are a lot of red and yellow cards and which teams receive the most cards and the teams that receive the least cards, Then that person can use this site to bet and when they see that they can get a lot right then they can start betting a lot of money. The truth is that when we are in sports betting it is difficult for us to dominate all markets, so every time a person wants to dominate more markets then that person needs to do tests to see if they can bet on that market and make a profit.

after the tests and that he can move on to bets with a higher value of money, there are many cases in which in a game betting on the winner, loser or draw does not have a good odds compared to the risk, but also betting on over and under goals does not have good odds either. good odds compared to the risk, in this case when the person dominates the cards and corners market they can bet on these two markets if they have good odds and with acceptable risk and the person who has already practiced a lot can get it right and come out with a profit. So there is a lot of advantage to dominate many markets

I started gambling on sports games, football to be precise, and during that period, it was my friend who was guiding me on how to make predictions and would also give me an already-booked game to just enter the code and stake on the same games as his. I did not find it fun to learn gambling through the paper method, and even if I were to start learning gambling from a fresh start, I would not use such a method but would go straight to business.

Honestly, if I was just gettin' into sports betting nowadays, I'd definitely put paper betting first on my agenda.  It's kinda like those training wheels for learnin to ride a bike.  Just divin' right into plunkin' down real dough can be a fast-track to a nasty money migraine, right? Paper betting lets a guy sharpen up his betting skills without takin' shots to the wallet at first.

Oh, so it's like play money. Yes, it could be good, that's okay with circle of friends doing that. We usually do that on our childhood games but not with gambling.
Although it could be good for demo, but i guess it won't take long that you will be bored and wants to bet real money to win real money too.

I found that boring. How can a newbie bettor improve their betting skills if there are no risks? The real pressure is when there's at stake.

Honestly, there's no need to learn sports betting deeply before a newbie will try to engage. Basic knowledge is enough and advanced knowledge can be learned along the way. A newbie can also practice sports betting for real without risking a large amount of money.

As I mentioned, basic knowledge is enough to start sports betting. For a newbie who is already familiar with and knowledgeable about the sports they prefer to bet on, they just need to learn the interface of the betting platform, how to make deposits, understand the terms, and how to place a bet.

Carrying around pieces of paper from betting slips can be tiring and fill up someone's pocket or purse unnecessarily. Many bettors who started sport betting in places where it is paper used like in physical shops did so because there was not the option of online betting available to them then. Betting online is what paper betting has developed into, any gambler who still will want to paper slips from betting is very old fashioned and not easy to accept change.

The OP presented a beginner bettor who is trying to understand the world of betting by using paper slips to list his bets but not really placing money for such bets. So what the person trying to do is to just list his bets and see what the results of the games so he can practice betting once he actually place money on it. Though it is a good activity to be familiar with the sportsbetting game but do remember that each betting game is still different. Even with the same sports, as each game is different, different teams/athletes, venue, coach among others.

I don't take loans, ask for sig if I ever do.
~
No not really. Long before I've started gambling I was already trying to predict winners/losers between matches of my favorite eSports games, so I don't really think there's a difference between that and this. And at this point, I can pretty much afford what I can lose when gambling so I'm completely fine with me actually losing it all lol.

In fact I don't think they even need to pick a choice from a bookie. They can just reference it even after the match itself and see if they won or not.

This is a good one for those that don't want to risk their money and just testing the waters. But the next part of the story is on how good they are in doing these predictions and bet in paper and when they're done with that phase, they'd do the actual thing.
