TRUMP IS DOING THE BEST! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
I really don't believe terrorists are using BTC; it's easy for them to use CASH or even gold...
I just sincerely hope that the European Court doesn't go back with their decision of taking VAT out of Bitcoin.

They dont. Its only an excuse from governments and banks sponsoring the governments against bitcoin. banks and other financial institutions are real terrorist  here.
This is just the mass media way of holding on to something that is not real and whip up hype on it to have a symbol for something to hate and have others do so too. They love to instil fear in their captive audience for ratings and if someone is telling them to do so. The major banks having a hold on their broadcasting company? Who knows, it could be anything like that.

My bet is that people will sue EU if it gets banned, then the only way to lose is if the judge is corrupt.

BTW the judges in the EU are corrupt. The written law is one thing, the sentences are sometimes a totally different thing.

Any form of anonymous funding is definitely on the watch of terrorists, especially those funds coming from pseudo-anonymous sources which couldn't easily be tracked. Cash might seem to accomplish this, but having another source of funding might also aid them in their goals. Terrorists will do anything to incite terror of any forms. On the other hand, EU I think is just playing safe given the situation. Though it is not necessarily needed, they just want to make sure that the event in Paris wouldn't happen again.

Regular people with no knowledge about bitcoin will believe what the media feed them with. And right now, media are feeding European people with ideas about bitcoin helping terrorists achieve their job. That, my good sirs, is the problem. The EU is going for Bitcoin now. Not for any kind of fiat. They already know they can't regulate fiat being used for terrorism, so they might want to try and regulate Bitcoin.
However every person who can think with their own mind can chose the side that their on. Bitcoin has too many supporters to be banned in the EU. My bet is that people will sue EU if it gets banned, then the only way to lose is if the judge is corrupt.

Defend Bitcoin and its PoW: bitcoincleanup.com
We all have heard about the recent paris attacks. Many people were killed in it. Many are still fighting for their lives. Now, how do these terrorists buy weapons? Where does the money come from? Its certainly clear that they don't use fiat currencies as they are international terrorists and they need international currency. Finger is pointed towards bitcoins here. So, people will now think that bitcoins are unsafe and this will surely be a great blow to bitcoin currency.

What kind of crap are you writing here?
Of course fiat money, especially cash, mostly USD, is their first choice to buy their weapons and other equipment!
Furthermore ISIS is selling huge amounts oil to finance themselves.
Go for the banks first and crypto currencies last!!!

Quoted you for truth, what a load of junk! Written by someone who clearly doesn't understand the political context we're in at the moment.

Chances are high that the IS killers are buying their weapons using USD. In the end large parts of this money comes from the western tax payers (i.e. transferred via Saudi Arabia). The money for weapons, oil and their mercenaries is transferred by the fiat banks.

The Bitcoin economy is way too small to use the system to finance their operations. But it's interesting that the press used this to start a war against Bitcoin and the users. Cui bono?

I second that. As a government you would actually HOPE they started using Bitcoin so they would have a least at clue about where money is flowing.

So, it's a FUD thread mostly than an actual concern. Or OP has become paranoid. In any case, the court ruling about VAT has nothing to do with Bitcoin being used for malicious purposes. It was done before, it will be done now and nothing would change anyone's use of Bitcoin if the ruling had not happened or was reverted again. The VAT ruling is an awesome sign to create new economic places and use Bitcoin to enhance digital economies alltogether. It was a great relief for everyone trading or doing business in Bitcoin. No need to do harm here. Besides, I would agree that digital currencies are the last thing to worry about. The bad guys meet in person and exchange funds, information and guns directly.

A while back ago the European court ruled that bitcoin and digital currencies were not subjected to VAT. Now after the terrorist attacks in Paris they will now discuss this again.
We will probably be affected by this. I just hope they don't stifle the industry with the new rullings!

Why?

The attacks in Paris have nothing to do with bitcoin or VAT on bitcoin. I don't understand this at all.

I call bull shit & FUD.

Move On !!!!!!
Like I said in other threads about the Bitcoin and terrorists, if regulators are just looking for a way to ban Bitcoin without caring to much is it justified or not, Paris attacks might make us a problem.

If they are using a common sense and looking at the things realistically they will conclude that Bitcoin is no different than Fiat in this problematic and Paris attacks won't harm us at all!

i think they cannot simply change the laws from a day to another, what is done is done, also if they are intelligent enough they should known that terrorist use their fiat more than bitcoin

nah i think the vat-free news is well secured already, we have enough fuds to deal with...

I think terrorists are using fiat or gold , it's better for them to use cash or gold than using Bitcoin..

That's why i think Paris attacks will not affect Bitcoin

I really doubt the terrorists are computer knowledgeable enough to correctly operate with Bitcoin,
Are you sure that you know what terrorism is? It's not one or two isolated guys who decide to blow themselves up for fun. ISIS is a STATE, mate. A state with billions of dollars in their chests and a modern army. It means that they have the means the hire top-tier hackers. And it's not because these hackers wear the beard with thawbs and pray Allah that they don't know how to use computers. Now besides these hackers they have brainpower too, people who might not be computer scientists but certainly know how to operate what they want to operate.
Trust me, terrorists know more about computers and bitcoins that you and me will ever know even if we spend our life studying about that stuff. If they aren't using bitcoin right now it only means that for whatever reason they don't want/need to use it, but it's certainly not because they don't understand it.

And anyway, if they are using it (which is possible, though I agree that gold and fiat are already plenty sufficient for them), of all people, they're not going to be the least bit bothered if bitcoin is made illegal. They'll know how to trade it anyway.

I agree, once they are done pointing the blame on secure communication technology, next the investigators will have to tackle the problem of "funding source".  They have serious equipment and it don't come from thin air.
