I've learned to drive for two months. I'm a little afraid of parking, especially when I go downtown. I'm always worried that there is no parking space and I'm afraid I can't cope with it. Every time I drive out of the city, I invite my friends to go with me. In case of any situation, she will help me. How can I dispel this fear?
ANy update from your parking Phobia ?

do you have improvement for the last weeks of asking this? it may take time but eventually you'll overcome that just focus in your daily routine and park more each day.
I guess he is still busy with the parking phobia and still trying to search for how to solve the problem Grin

There is no other way that he can do except practice many times to eliminate the phobia. I hope he can resolve their problem with parking phobia.

I also feel this way when I'm new to a city. I sometimes travelled for hours to go to the other side of the country but when I reach a city, I can feel anxiety when I have no idea where to park. I guess having no money to pay for the parking ticket is also adding this anxiety but not knowing where to park is stressful enough.

So Kaylana's parking phobia could be related to this issue as well. Not just because she is new to driving but also stressed to receive parking tickets.

You just learned how to drive, I have the same fear a few months after I learned to drive and I still have that fear from time to time, but you can overcome that fear after driving for a few more months, parking here in our city is a big dilemma you just have to familiarize yourself on the place you are going to park by checking parking place or asking people in that area where you can park properly.

Find a parking with some cars and park your car in different situations, two cones and a wide street would do almost the same job. I learnt from expirience by parking more than 5 times a day

Depends on how strict the parking rules are where you want to park, or are you worried you may be seen as incompetent driver?
Maybe you should have someone teach you what to do when you encounter such situations, you should have options and know easy & right decisions to take incase you find it challenging park. This should help you become more confident in your parking and driving abilities

Same as me when first time get driving, by running a time, i always practise daily searching to the parking land. I don't mind turn into the car to make sure i was correct.

It's a practice that is required and over a period of time, you will enjoy driving. Only thing is that you should not become careless and rest is easy to manage. If you have automatics car then that is more better.
Just old car with manual transmition. My car isn't show rear alarm and back tv

New technologies can solve your fear which are parking assist but if you don't have such luxury car then go with parking sensors and cameras.

Honestly everyone feel in that way so don't worry this will be resolved in the next few months.

You need more practice. I suggest you learn to drive with your friend on a road that will not have too many cars. You need to keep trying to park your car because you will never be able to dispel your fear without practice. Just focus and say to yourself that you can do that.

Practise, practise, practise is what will help you. You’re a new driver, a bit of anxiety around busy situations is totally normal. You will get better & more confident with experience.

Parking your car can be challenge for even an experienced driver.
A method for overcoming anxiety and negative emotion in general is to recognize that your framing of the experience is affecting your performance.
For example physiologically, anxiety is almost indistinguishable from excitement; the primary difference is the framing we have of the experience.
I would recommend framing the experience of parking in your mind as a challenge or a game and you may be  able to improve the experience of parking.

How can I dispel this fear?

Only with practice. It is natural for people to be afraid of things they don't understand or aren't skilled enough to handle. What I'm getting at is, you have to work on yourself, and understanding what you are afraid of, then you can be more confident around it.
