Nice tips but those do not help in improving the bettor win ratio, parlays are very difficult to catch hence the lot of juice in them.

IMO knowing these factors will help your win ratio.

Thinking out of the typical box like you describe of putting 3, 5 or 10 "sure" favorites together and instead trying to put 2 underdogs together should help your hit ratio.

Juice doesnt effect hit ratio, it does effect profit though.

I have been a member of Premiumtipping tipping service here and what they did was pick 3-4 heavy favourites and make a parlay with total odd of 1.85-2 . Usually they were winners but my greed made me lose everything.

I think your points are worth to take into consideration for every gambler who plays accumulator bets.

do fall victim to sure bets failing on parlays

The problem is even calling anything a sure bet, imo.

Do you think sportsbooks make more from parlay players than they do single players?

Yes, unless they are a total hedge sportsbook, which many are they make more money on parlays, draws, and unders since not many bet draw and under.

Nice topic OP.

It'd be very interesting to see how other parlay players bet and the psychology behind it. I started my own betting thread about 6 months ago, where the vast majority of my bets are parlays. Contrary to being "afraid to lose", however, I tend to blow most of my bets because I went one tough call too many.

I do fall victim to sure bets failing on parlays though so I maybe ought to stop using my personal favourites to "pad up" what I feel would be an upset. It's just that I would never make a single bet on anything lower than 2/1... so I tend to pick my favourite, and then try and parlay it with an unlikely outcome. That's just my style though!

Do you think sportsbooks make more from parlay players than they do single players?

P.S. Might be worthwhile to fix some of the typos in "accumlator" (also the same typo on the faq page)Wink

16. Do parlays push? This is something you need to think about -before- you make your parlay bet. In most cases a push in a parlay just reduces the payout. However there are some types of paralys where “push=loss”. These are normaly parlay cards and some other types of parlay offers. This is also why some parlay cards always have half points to prevent any pushes.

17. Do parlays have juice? YES parlays have TONS of juice. The more selections the more juice. Some sportsbooks in Las Vegas or Atlantic City offer reduced juice parlay cards.

18. Should you only parlay big favorites? There is no one way to win at sports betting or parlays. However you should try to think out of the box. A lot of the time a 2 leg parlay with two underdogs pays more than a 5 or 10 leg parlay with all favorites. You can decide what is worth it.

19. Why do people lose so many parlays? The main reason people lose parlays and in sportsbetting in general is that they are -afraid of losing-. Instead of looking for value people are looking for bets that they think that they -will not lose-. This also goes for parlays and is why you see so many parlay slips full of 1.05 and 1.20 odds bets, because people think they are “locks” “sure” or even “fixed”.This is the way to lose money.
