🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
I couldn't agree more! It's great to see more and more businesses adopting digital currencies like bitcoin. I believe that as more businesses adopt digital currencies, they will become more mainstream and widely accepted. But, it's not just about businesses accepting digital currencies. It's also important for individuals to understand the value and potential of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The more people learn about it, the more they will be inclined to use it as a payment method. This is definitely the future of payments, and I hope to see it being widely accepted soon.

I walk into a shopping mall and I saw simplicity of life, that's the mall makes things easier for customers. There is several terminal machines and electronics device that calculate items as soon as you pick anything and before you're done shopping the electronics machine knew the total price already. Payment was excellently quick and sharp, you made payments with digital currency (bitcoin and ETH), gifts cards.

Of course, we wanted everything to be simply in life, we don't even want to go into line in a physical store and we wanted to get out and pay as soon as we able to get the items needed and pick it up. So I like the concept though, but I haven't seen one. And the closest that I have been using my bitcoin is to pay online using our local exchange and third party coins.ph. They have options of gift cards if I'm not mistaken, but I haven't tried it.

But you've cash like neat dollars you can still pay directly with machines or sales reps around. It will be nice see people living the streets of the world with bitcoin digital pay cards.

I guess fiat will still be there no matter what and won't get obsolete even if we go digital and cashless in the future. But the good thing is that we have other options now and most advance countries in Europe are going cashless society with their credit cards and other mode of payment, it might include Bitcoin and Ethereum or any other cyrpto or CBCD.

The idea of everything being calculated automatically and the ability to pay with cryptocurrency without the need for a cashier is quite intriguing to me. I have not yet come across such a system and I am eager to learn more about it. It's remarkable that all transactions can be automated, but there must be measures in place to prevent double-spending.

Overall, I find this concept to be fascinating and I am looking forward to hearing more details from the OP. It's exciting to think about the potential implications this technology could have on the way we make purchases in the future.

the concept is great but i don't think we will see that in the years to come. the automatic calculation of what you've got in the store, is actually nice. so you already know how much you need to pay. this is good if you have limited budget, so you can return unnecessary items before payment.
haven't seen one yet but this concept seems plausible. we are in the digital era already, such technology won't be too difficult to implement.

That's already happening and we're in the transition, soon more gift and pay cards will have an integration with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that's acceptable.
It's just a matter of time until we see that most of them will have these cards that we will not be needing to bring cash anymore because that's how it's going to be in the future, cashless but more with digital wallets, pay cards, and even gift cards. That's going to be convenient for most of us but I doubt that cash will be neglected even with those options because there will be people that will have a hard time adopting the transition and these new technologies.

This will be possible if bitcoin will come into global adoption, and so expect that it will be easily used as a legal tender anywhere in the world. However, with the idea of this shopping mall, definitely its great and makes things more easier and faster. If only this exists on our country, life would be more simple and meaningful, and there have been no chaos around especially in shopping malls where there are a lot of people around.

Live with peace and enjoy life!
I have only seen this type of application in a teaser. You would go inside the store, and there wouldn't be any other cashier, but you would immediately be recorded by the items you pick up, and it's being counted. It's exciting because I remember it as a concept before.

Can you share OP where you are and where you have encountered this? It makes life simpler and more accessible.
This one would totally be amazing and certainly fast without hassles, but never in my life i have encountered like this. Even in movies, I have not seen like this either. So tell me OP, where have you seen something like this? I think if things are just easy like these, life would be peaceful, and definitely simpler than ever.

if Amazon and Paypal start accepting Bitcoin it is over for the haters.

Where have you been?
PayPal does: https://www.paypal.com/digital-wallet/manage-money/crypto
Been discussed here a bunch.

Amazon probably will not but there are countless places to get Amazon gift cards for crypto at good rates.

It is very hard to pay bills with digital currency over here, as no one is ready to accept Bitcoin as means of payment when it comes to bill payment, I can't imagine ever wanting ti to pay my house rent and I ask my landlord for a Bitcoin wallet address, it's going to be so hilarious because the next question that will come out of the old man's mount is what the heck is Bitcoin or are you trying to scam me?  Cheesy

The only things I can manage to use Bitcoin to purchase our gift cards, recharge cards, smartphones, gaming consoles, and a few electronic items, I do hope that Bitcoin will be a true winner one day.

You are lucky because you found this shopping mall and its advanced machines are paving the way for all customers who are looking for speed and do not want to waste their time, and this is what you did not find in most countries of the developing world. What I also liked is the payment by bitcoin and Ethereum, but what about the fees? Were the prices of items that you bought by crypto expensive and exaggerated? How long did the payment transaction take for items you purchased using crypto? Frankly, I have not previously tried gift cards for online purchases or from a shopping center, but I am really impressed and wish you would give us additional information about the name of this shopping mall and its geographical location. I am 100% sure that if all shopping malls in the world adopted payment in bitcoins and cryptocurrencies and relied on developed machines in these transactions, human life would have been transformed into the best, easiest and most enjoyable.

I've been to an Amazon store last year (DaveF provided a link to this type of stores in the thread as well) and I've experienced something similar to what the op seems to be talking about. It was linked to an Amazon account, and then you just pick up the foods without the need to scan it anywhere. It was actually a step up from the op's description, I guess, because you don't have to stop to pay when you are done shopping. The money if automatically taken a few hours later from your debit card that's linked to your Amazon account, and you get the receipt online as well. Unfortunately, though, you can't use Bitcoin payment there and unless it's a centralized service, it would be impossible with Bitcoin (because money can't just be taken from your Bitcoin wallet automatically). But if it's a smart shop that calculates the price and lets you know the total amount at the checkout while also allowing to pay in cryptos, that's amazing. Can you tell us more on where that is and how it works?

There are a few others too.

Personally I like it, mostly because I have found that when using self checkout the person in front of me has never been shopping before or used money before or learned how to put things in a bag. And when you go to a store with actual cashiers the person in front of me has to fight over the fact that some item was on sale 3 months ago and they want that price.

This is just so much nicer, I walk around, take what I want and my credit card gets billed.

TBH, I like this concept and we hope that all countries we saw like this, must see the good side of Bitcoin and other crypto benefits not only the downside that boils down to heavy regulation.  I just wanted to know if they use the Lightning Network which is very convenient for small transactions in a shopping mall.

In big cities are very easy to access the internet and no doubt this will happen on the streets but the most that I'm afraid of is the possible abuse or misuse of crypto as an alternative payment.

Where is this shopping mall, or do they accept payment via the lightning network, or are they waiting for a certain number of confirmations? Bitcoin is now ideal for buying products digitally, as the 10-minute interval is not a problem for most digital orders, but it is a big problem in stores.
They can accept the lightning network, which will make a difference for daily purchases, but I am surprised that there is a large mall that tries to attract the largest number of customers by providing the ability to pay even with gift cards.

If you buy gift cards from official sources or stores, it is safe but if you buy them from secondary market, you will have higher risk.
Not only risks, you may end up in prison if the cards are stolen or hacked, not to mention the freezing of your bank account and a lot of headaches and legal problems, I remember that someone had the Amazon account and bank account frozen because of such a transaction.

How were your items being calculated without you putting them in a machine that scanned all goods to know their prices?
I am still shock to see this because the country where I came from you still need to queue on the long line for sales rep to attend to you which I feels very disappointing undergoing through those hard processes.

I think this method of payment already existed before, there's an open store with just a box of money where you pay and take a change from it. If I remember right its from Japan since the people in there are generous and honest. If you were asking about that machine's name I don't know what is it called but the process is called self checkout not sure if the machine is also called like that, where you don't need to be assisted which you have to simply put your items in the box to get scan. Once you're done scanning you will just need to pay cash or digital currency. That's the pros of it, the convenience it gave to the customers and employees but the cons of it, is it open to theft. No one will assist you to scan your goods which could be the high chance of stealing. There's a lot of people stolen items with this kind of system due to it's way of catching theft is based on the scale weight of the items. They could simply put it in their body to avoid getting check and walk like nothing happened.

In this age time is priceless. Sometimes I am very frustrated when I see long queues each time I want to make payments in supermarkets. Sometimes one has to wait for up to an hour to make payment. I think this new technology will be highly welcomed in my country. It saves time and makes payment very easy. But this facility or program might be expensive that only big supermarkets will be able to afford it. And it will also require constant power supply and a stable internet connection. It might also add to the running cost of he supermarket which will be transferred to customers making products in the supermarket expensive.

I walk into a shopping mall and I saw simplicity of life, that's the mall makes things easier for customers.

Shopping mall is already outdated because everything that you can do at the mall is can be do now by just using mobile and internet. Amazon offers an express delivery which will give customer a feeling that they are buying and receive the goods instantly same with paying bills and other things that can be done outside the house.

But you've cash like neat dollars you can still pay directly with machines or sales reps around. It will be nice see people living the streets of the world with bitcoin digital pay cards.

People living on the street typically don’t care about living anymore with convenience or else they will not stay on the street. I know Bitcoin is for everyone but making street people have a mobile phone and internet connection just to have Bitcoin is already not fitted for them considering their situation.

It means that we are still early right now. If you can imagine this right now, I believe it will happen in the future, just a matter of time.
Technology is evolving too fast and I believe as time goes by, technology is giving us more to live comfortable. The best example of that is Bitcoin, a digital currency.
The best example I believe in the future that will be a real-life use case is the lightning network of Bitcoin.

If I may ask was there any place you first key in your names for the Electronic machine to start recording any item you picked from the shop along the line giving you an instant summary of total items being purchased? Reason being that there may be other customers picking some items as well.
