hello
i sold many btc for paypal
now paypal asked me about payment received
what i can tell ? how can i give them evidence?
There's a big risk if you are exchanging to sell crypto currency,it's a violation of their tos,if you are going to sell your account should be a business type and you use their cart ,they are asking about the funds that you are receiving that means they noticed usually activity in your account, you have no choice but to to be honest and face the consequences, this is one of the thing I hate about paypal.

You can tell them the real truth that you have exchanged e-currency. Purchased paypal and given Bitcoin.
Hope it'll get you getting access back to your paypal account? By the way...Did paypal limited your account about it?
If he told them the truth, his PP account will be banned. The problem is really big. I've used sometime PP but never to "exchange" big amount of BTC.
The paypal account will be banned indeed, it's against their TOS because paypal don't accept bitcoin yet and I don't think what's the reason behind this, skrill and neteller already decided and confirmed that they accept bitcoin, what the heck this paypal don't follow. That's why time will come paypal will go down. Though I have verified paypal account the reason is because I have some item to buy that this shop dont accept bitcoin yet.

So far there have been so much of this cases when dealing with paypal to bitcoins and vice versa. The person using paypal will sometimes file a complaint with paypal and they always win because paypal doesn't really allow their users to buy bitcoins with their service. Also, you can't really prove you sold bitcoins to another person via paypal, because a singular account on bitcointalk or a bitcoin address cannot be linked to a paypal user.

This is one of the reason I wont use this paypal of a thing. What is their business in where I get my money since I am not doing anything illegal but because they also will want to protect themselves so they wont be accused of aiding money laundering anyway you have to find something to tell them and move your funds else where.

It is inevitable that any bank that will convert your Btc to fiat will need to abide by their regulatory jurisdictions. In this case, KYC documents will need to be done. They will want to confirm your identity, confirm the source of the funds and why you are receiving them. Especially a publicly traded US company.

Yea, you had this coming. Good luck, and please let us know how it went.

You did not mentioned if your account is verified or is it a business account, paypal will question your transactions if you are an unverified user and all your transactions are also coming from unverified source..

Anyway as long as their are no disputes paypal will not limit your account but transactions should be merchants to buyer if it involves crypto currency, honestly I still haven't explore their tos about selling and buying crypto currency using their flatform but had experience selling virtual goods like e-book..

This is not true.   Even without disputes PayPal can and will lock your funds and ban you for life.  If they even remotely suspect anything against their ToS, ban.   I had my account blocked for trading on LBC.   Not a single dispute.   They held my money for 6 months, and I am still not allowed to use PP.

As far as I know dealings with cryptocurrency are absolutely forbidden by PayPal so unless the opener is able to create some kind of evidence that backups some other way for which he obtained the funds he is going to probably get his account frozen.

You can't sell Bitcoin from Paypal, but you can sell Bitcoins for Paypal money (from another person or exchange).

I'd just be honest with them if I were you, and see how it goes, as long as you pay your taxes.

Yeha, it's something that's true. If we want to sell a bitcoin and exchanged with paypal money is the right thing, but if we want to sell paypal and money exchanged for bitcoin it is something wrong. Because until now, paypal has not formally decided that bitcoin is a digital currency that they approve for use in transactions in its products. so this is all something is very wrong

Oh my.,
I guess you need to be specific on every payment you made using paypal, there are many issues now using paypal nowadays especially account freezing where your money can not be withdrawn and that is the worst of that you can not withdraw after so many transaction you made. I guess you have to contact for paypal service right away and show some proof of your transaction where you earn that amount and make some negotiation. I guess it can help you on that way.
We need to think many times before using paypal nowadays because of these issues. Maybe we need to learn from this one.
OP, tell us what did you do if you surpass this problem so if in the future if we have the same problem we know what we gonna do.

Where you using coinbase for selling bitcoin for paypal? If yes, than I don't know why they want to freeze you. Paypal's services are strange, they offer some things and are doing another things.
Now what they want from you is proof of your transaction and if you have unverifyed account, than it's verification. But there are still high chanses to be freezed from paypal.

The  funny thing at this situation is that paypals does allowed the transaction, and then after it has been made, and complete they question about where did the money camed, and why, i do believe its because two countries far away.
you must know that paypal can't monitor every transactions and they will eventually figure out which one is the most suspicious or having such characteristic of fraud transaction / cryptocurrencies transaction or anything like that.they will asked about it and asking for few evidence to give you pass and cancelling the accusation of being suspicious

I am surprised by the interest PayPal for payment. What do they matter? Their business just deposit money and earn a commission from it. Why complicate the lives of their customers

First off, how was the payment received?
By good and services then you can not claim that you made a sale because there is no shipping so no proof.
They don't allow you to make too many payments by family and friends either. Embarrassed

If you sold BTC and received Paypal you are in big trouble ...
Paypal dont just asking about payments, they need proofs too. If you tell them that you made a exchange, your account will be bannded for up to 180 days. (their TOS does not allow this). Also there is a high risk to get some chargebacks and these amounts are deducted from your balance.

This is just one of the many reasons why we should avoid Paypal as much as possible...like a big toothache. I know that soon Paypal will be losing a big chunk of its business due to Bitcoin and it is now extremely jealous so be careful.

This is really serious, but I am wondering if you did not know how paypal operate before taking that risk.  Before you accept that paypal for bitc, you should have told the paypal sender to put some fake information in the transaction memo as gift, pay for so so and so so, I think that would have saved you.
