but as far as I can tell, in this year paypal will only be making this service available to US residents or maybe I got it wrong? and it will have the issue of tax payments and also from what I realized, paypal will not allow people to withdraw funds from cryptocurrencies to the bank. it is not yet clear to me how all of this will work but from the information I have read so far I think people are getting excited too soon without first seeing the real benefits of this news, many people have already started speculating the price of cryptocurrencies even before the service is operational and then if the service is not going to keep up with the high expectations we will start to see a big price dump
It's not only the governments as parties who have been seeing crypto as the future for the financial system but paypal sees it as the next opportunity to get more and more users.
there is still a regulatory barrier and high volatility, people will be converting bitcoin into a fiat and it is very different from buying things with bitcoin without any conversion and we are still far from one day being using bitcoin as a means of payment worldwide and without restrictions and without needing to convert to FIAT
