Pele was an icon. A beacon of hope for young people in Brazil and all over the world. While his health has been deteriorating, having fought cancer for the past year, it’s still a shock to hear that he has passed on. Pele is a legend in the world of football. With his impressive dribbling skills on the pitch and his record goal numbers, he brought a new and fun perspective to football.
He will surely be missed but would never be forgotten as his legendary career lives on in our hearts and mind. I only wish I got to see him play. RIP Pele the greatest!

I just heard about this news tonight, today the football lost a legend.
How ironic Pele died right after the victory of Argentina and right after the party celebrating the South American Football, this year is bitter-sweet for this continent in that aspect.

I read that during his last days, he had time to talk and say good bye to his family, which is something which is not always possible, because of the nature of death itself. Anyways, Rest in Peace. Pele. you had a good life.

Slava Ukraini!
That's circle of life. As much it sounds sad, but it had to happen one day. And we are just temporrary visitors on this earth. 82 years of amazing life, he become one of the greatest football players ever without even playing in Europe. Same like most of us here, I didn't got chance to see him playing, but he is one of the main reasons why football is loved so much around the globe.
RIP, Pele...

Pele was certainly a legend in the world of football and his contributions to the sport will not be forgotten. It is understandable to feel a sense of sadness and loss when a public figure or someone we admire passes away. He was an amazing player and a great man. Pele's influence extended beyond the football as well. He was a role model and ambassador for the sport, and he used his platform to promote social causes and charitable causes. He will certainly be missed by the football community and beyond. RIP

I remember hearing stories about Pele from the time I was a little kid at soccer practice.  I can't say I could pick him out of a lineup or name any of his accomplishments, but I'm aware that he was the greatest soccer player (footballer) of all time.  I don't think there will ever be another player who stood above the pack like he did as far as recognition, mostly because there are lots of well known players now.  I hope that his family is comforted by his legacy.  His name will live on for generations no doubt as the original greatest player of all time.

Pele won three world cups with his first World Cup at just 17 years old. Being the only and youngest player to win three world cups, he’s definitely a legend.

Brazil president elect pours in his tribute saying there would never be a no.10 like him.

It's a piece of really sad news for the world of football. He was a legend and demi-god of football and would be greatly missed. He scored 757  goals in 831 matches and he was a player that was selfless and patriotic that he was ever willing to play for Brazil even with an injury. Pele was active on social media and always used the platform to encourage, mentor, motivate and congratulate young players.

His contribution to football is quite indelible because the world has not yet produced a player of his level. Regardless of the exploits of Messi and Ronaldo, Pele remains the greatest. He was also fortunate to live a very long and fulfilled life because most players of his age have died a long time ago. I extend my condolence to Brazil and his immediate family. I pray God would give them the strength to bear this great loss.

Adieu the world's greatest.
