Damn the name JetCash is so popular it has a trademark already, I guess that the ones who will have a problem are the developers of the cryptocurrency, Jetcash, which I assume are the ones who own the newbie accounts who also registered under that name because one of the accounts is on a copper membership already. The way I see it is this is not a matter of impersonation but the fight for the name Jetcash which is being use by other industries already not including cryptocurrencies.

Hey people copying other people names is common on forums,
It really isn't. I know because there is a whole litter of Foxpups skulking around the Internet, but there's very rarely more than one of us on any given site. Even on a site as populous as this one, the presence of two Foxpups is unusual enough to be noteworthy. (Incidentally, the fact that the other Foxpup has recently become active again after 5 years is less noteworthy than it appears. Foxpups just do that from time to time. I've done it myself on other sites. It doesn't mean we've been hacked.)

I've noticed that there are at least 3 newby names starting with "Jetcash". Please note that none of these are in any way associated with me, and the members should not be trusted in my opinion. The names are -

JetCash
JetCashDev - copper member
JetCash786

Note also that I have owned the domain name JetCash.com since December of 2002, and I have used it intermittently to provide personal payment services, and advice about online payments. No other "JetCash" name is owned by me, or has any support or association with me.

In view of my forum presence here, it is my belief that any unauthorised use is possibly fraudulent, so approach any contact with extreme caution.

I'm not sure where to post this thread for it to achieve any visibility. If there is a better board, then perhaps a mod could move it. I've also considering giving those account a neutral trust comment.

Hey people copying other people names is common on forums, however in your case if they accept payments impersonating you it will be bad. It's to early to say whether they're here to impersonate you or to use your name for personal gains, anyways as precautionary measures may I suggest you either write in your signature you own only one account, or if signature space is not free, use the space below avatar to let people know.

Well that org site will be useful for traffic - I've got prior use, so they are passing off by copying my name.

Always remember - the real sites are usually on the .com names. I'll use that to consolidate my crypto payments coins. That was always the plan, and I've been using it since 2002, ao they are just newbies to the Jet Cash concept.

Now to look at the traffic stats.

Would be easy to make an algorithm that doesn't allow combos of [a-z0-9_][Legendary Username][a-z0-9_] on registration

Perhaps this answers why people are registering that name here:

http://jetcash.org/en/

Someone also already trademarked it in the USA but not for use in Crypto.

I think we should sue jet. The name trademark was filed 3-4 years after you bought the domain Grin.

I'm not a DT, so my comment will be in the also ran list, and I believe it can be suppressed.
Yet I think you should give a neutral feedback sothat people can know about those from your account as well as from the account which pretend your account. As a result people be avoid scam if those accounts created by scammer.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
I’ve encountered similar cases on a couple of occasions, and sent a PM to the original accounts so they could keep an eye on them. Some are cranky attempts at getting merit, but other may do more damage trying to impersonate someone in a deal of some kind. Theres a thread here on Meta where such cases were reported (see Similar Usernames Attempting To Scam - Defaults Please Tag). The thread was created in 2015 and last active in March 2018.

I like to keep my sig for various personal projects - the next one will probably be my investment club - The Crypto Coin Tree. I'm still struggling with the mysteries of Drupal, so that is a secret, and I hope you guys won't tell anybody about it. Smiley

I suspect that this thread will serve as a warning to members, especially as other senior members are starting to watch these pseudo-alt signups.

I think that a new forum feature that allows me to receive a notification should any of those alts make a post would be a great addition to the notifications options.

Welcome to the SaltySpitoon, how Tough are ya?
If people are impersonating you, you can also report them and they'll be banned. Someone with just a similar name like Jets4Cash wouldn't be, but JetCash_ or JetCash~ would more than likely.

Most likely you have missed your son Wink sonofapharmacist or you want to hide your son Grin Lol. But this account inactive, Last Active:   April 27, 2014
I did see that account, which is older than mine.  All my past girlfriends tell me I'm skilled with the withdrawal method, so I am fairly certain that he is not in fact my son.  You can puke now trying to get that image out of your head, but it's been that kind of week for me.

JetCash, I don't think any of those accounts are coincidental BTW.  Your name is unique enough such that anyone having anything resembling JetCash would pretty much have to be done for motives of impersonation or the like.

You can specify the names of your alt accounts in the signature below the avatar so users don't confuse you with other people.

I don't really want to be too harsh, as they could be genuine mistakes - the dev and the copper membership are a bit strange. Whilst I've owned the .com name, there have been a few attempts to start a payment service using the name, but nobody has taken the obvious step of trying to buy the domain - probably because I'd want a few Bitcoins for it.

I think that Coyster could be right, and if so, then the owners should be left alone, as they would appear to be behaving responsibly. I haven't tried to request alerts for members if they post here. That would be a good option, as there isn't really a problem if they don't ever make any posts.

This thread inspired me to do a search on members with "pharmacist" in their userid's, and there are some interesting new ones.

I think you can set a neutral feedback on their profiles warning others members of the forum about the not-ownership of those accounts.
It will more better if leave neutral feedback by any DT member.

From all logical view, those members have been on the forum for quite a while with an alt account, and sure have gotten to study how popular the Real jetcash is,thus were triggered to get an alt with something close to the name, for various reasons..
Probably they feel they could get favors from the real jetcash(merits)
Or maybe to act as an alt to jetcash in disguise,so anyone who ain't attentive may deal with them like he/she is dealing with a reputable member of the forum(jetcash)

A neutral/negative feedback could be appropriate in my opinion

Speaking of this, sometimes they're not nicksquatting even if at first glance it looks like that. For example a user called Anduck` (that's not me) seems to be legit regardless the nick. Of course most of the nicks with ` are squatters trying to scam.
