Changing avatars is currently not possible.
When will setting/changing avatars be possible?
When it's ready

You sound like my mother haha.

I don't think there's any rush to fix the avatars. Apparently new software is coming soon.

waits for somebody to post this:

I was curious after I saw this thread so I went in to see if I was able to change (set, since I never bothered to add one) an avatar:

is this a result of the thread?

or was this done weeks or months ago and I just never noticed?

It was done months ago and you never noticed  Cheesy.

You're not 1337 enough unless you have images in your sig :-)

Does anyone still have images in their sigs? I seem to remember wiping the old ones out a long time after they were disabled for new sigs. But maybe not.

I've seen one or two about. I'll keep an eye out for them. Any bounties for finding 'em?  Grin

Do not bring them back. Us early folk must feel special.
I hope to see some people get the chance to change their Avatar, sometimes its hard to take some users serious when I can't get past the thought of the facial expression going right along with a statement they just made.
I feel I am fortunate that I do not have one locked into my profile, pretty sure  I could have had one.

I'm waiting on my hands for this new forum software Grin  Any second now.

Heh, I don't know about that. I don't think anyone knows what the timeline is, rather than it is in production currently.

Why would you want to freeze avatars? What happens when us early folk decide to change our avatars and cant?

Anyone who makes it out of the nooby phase should feel special, having overcome mind-rotting post restrictions and the highest rate of scammers among any member group.

I'm going to upload my avatar once my account is old enough and there's nothing you can do about it.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA
