Hey dev,

I cant get the miner to bench bci
Code:
PhoenixMiner.exe -coin bci -bench amd

The benchmark runs to ETH instead, which works fine

He asked about drivers needed for AMD cards - blockchain, latest or specific version.
I'm answered that I'm always use latest AMD drivers for my RX 580 cards. If miner support this latest drivers, speed is always the same. No speed drops from all drivers from blockchain to latest 19.3.2.

With current profitability many miners runs their cards optimized for power consumption instead of maximum hashrate. If your cards are hitting the power limit, the new kernels will allow them to run at higher clock speed with the same power consumption. If the power limit is high enough and the cards don't hit it, they will run at the same speed (or slightly higher) but with lower power consumption (about 1-1.5% on average).

yes, cards are power limited, but by value that reduces speed just a little bit. I will try to play with PL. thanks for advise.

PhoenixMiner 4.2c is the new stable release. You can find the download link and other information in the first post of this thread. If you have already downloaded and installed it, there is no need to do this again - there is no change from 4.2c that was published as a beta version.

-clkernel 3 gives me 31.4MHs on RX 470 8Gb, 31.3MHs without. Is this normal ?
The speedup from the turbo kernels (-clkernel 3) is dependent on the memory timings and the way memory controllers work, so it is possible that the speedup can be small. In such case be sure to check the power consumption because if it is higher without much increase in hashrate, the normal AMD kernels might be a better choice.

this info is wrong/outdated?
will really works for Nvidia cards?
Yes, -lidag does work on Nvidia cards but unfortunately not so effectively as on AMD cards. Still, it is worth a try if you have instability during DAG generation.

Many thanks, PhoenixMiner!

Please, could you realise -tt function in Linux? It is most importantly for me and i think to all.
It is in the TODO list since quite a while, and we hope to have it working in the next version.

Hi, PhoenixMiner!

Thank for new version. I tested it for a while and did not find any improvements at least on P104 gpus. kernels 2 & 3 perform mostly the same. (linux, driver 418)
btw, miner reports cuda runtime v8.0. what about building against v10.0? can it give improvement?
the second question about adding support for switching to Zilliqa. It will be interesting even with higher devfee.

Hello developer thanks for the PM 4.2.c, if possible in the next version of PM Zilliga and Ravencoin please  Huh
We can't promise anything at this point as new coins and algorithms are created literally every day. Once we are done with the features that are requested since a long time ago, then definitely something like this is on our list.

hello,

where is download link for phoenix 4.2 ?

Tnx
In the first post of this thread (now it is the official stable version).

Buy yourself a wattmeter and you'll find 1.5% lower power consumption with kernel 3.

ok. I have it. and I will measure it. But driver itself reports the same consumption. and on nvidia it is quite accurate.
btw, P104 and P102 gpus are a bit different in power consumption from GTX.

PhoenixMiner 4.1c added to https://www.minermonitoring.com/

Join our discord https://discord.gg/aGGaeqq

also, you can check the speed of the miner on different rigs using the benchmark page: https://minermonitoring.com/benchmark
I have some doubts on that benchmark:
GeForce GTX 1070   33.05 Mh/s   ethash   1493Mhz   4608MHz   96W   Win. (EthControl)   388.13   PM 4.1c - ETH

I'm running with:
60% power, -150 core clock and +780 mem clock and I have around 32.5 - 32.8 ... depends..and the power is about ~ 100 W / card
Ok, I know there is no additional info regarding card brand and other settings but it's quite strange, I run the cards higher and I don't get over 33 Mh/s  Huh

Regards and have a nice weekend!

Maybe its not the same memory type...AMD cards vary wildly depending on memory manufacturer, and although we can modify BIOS-es,
final result still depend a lot on memory manufacturer

Yes, agree with you, that's why I said there are others things between. We all want to "suck" all from this cards with minimum power Smiley
Anyway, with the new version, PhoenixMiner 4.2c I'm back with 230.xxx Mh/s (7 cards) on one rig (driver 391.35) and 229.xxx on the second one (driver 419.35 + all updates on windows - i will install again the driver with DDU, maybe will be a change because it was an update, if not I will change with an old driver).

The 4.2c is ready (this will probably be the final 4.2 release provided no major bugs are found).

you use 2 different kernels so the speed can be different.  Roll Eyes

I mean "Why I get only 0.1MHs with that qualified TURBO kernel ?". It's 0.31% more hashrate ...
