phoenixminer for linux, nice guys. this is what i've been waiting for and now i've almost overseen it! any differences compared to windows with 1070ti/1080 cards?
There shouldn't be any differences but this is the first Linux version so there may be some bugs yet.
The same question. Does not work on 1060 3Gb Ubuntu 16-18
Kernel: 4.13.16
Drivers: N 396.54 Thank you for the system information. We have successfully ran 1060 3GB and 6GB under HiveOS 0.5-76 so we are really not sure why is this happening. Probably it is somehow connected to the number of the GPUs as all reports so far are with a lot of GPUs. Please try to add
-gpus 123 command-line parameter in your custom miner settings in order to use only the first three GPUs and see if this fixes the problem. Obviously this isn't a workable solution but it will help us reproduce it.
I tried on your advice - nothing has changed with 3 cards. The result is the same.
We are working on this problem, it should be resolved in the next release.
Hi,
Sorry if the problem has already been solved, I did not read the entire thread.
I am willing to give this miner a try but it draws far more power than claymore for a similar or little higher hashrate.
I use it with win10 with 6 RX580.
With claymore (11.9), 186Mh/s @ 830W
With Phoenix (3.5d), 187Mh/s @ 1150W!
I tried to use the same values for clocks and voltages (which are set in config.txt) or to let it blank without any effect.
What am I doing wrong?
Most probably the cards voltages/clocks aren't set properly. Please note that if you are using older driver (older than 18.x.x), you should use external tool to set the clocks and voltages. With 18.x.x driver you should be able to set the clocks and voltages with the command-line settings of PhoenixMiner.
Hi there. I'm using phoenixminer since yesterday and till now it's nice. The only concern is the fact that fan speed cannot be controlled under linux. I'm waiting for your new version..
The new version will include full hardware control for AMD cards and possibly for Nvidia under Linux. There also will be full support for Nvidia under Windows and some fixes for the AMD support.
Hey Guys I just installed Phoenixminer on my computer and Windows defender said that a virus named Occamy.C was found
Is this OK or what ?
Thanks for your help
We have given up trying to argue with the anti-virus vendors, so you just have to trust us that there aren't any viruses in the miner. You should add folder where you have extracted PhoenixMiner as an exception in Windows Defender, as it may delete the miner at some point without asking you. You can use the checksums from the first post to see if the miner is not tampered with (especially if you have downloaded it from somewhere else except the official download link in the first post).
Anyone else using this miner with low memory cards like 2gb RX560/560D?
The default intensity setting of 10 seems to be optimal only for 4 gb cards, because it causes errors and crashes on all my 2gb cards. The highest my 2gb RX560 cards can handle without errors is 7 intensity, and I have an older RX560D card that can only handle 4 intensity without crashing.
We recently tested with RX550 2 GB and we haven't noticed any negative effect of the intensity on stability but probably it depends on the drivers and OS interaction. If you are using really old drivers, you may want to try 18.5.1, we have had good results with them.
Getting "No available GPUs for mining. Please check your drivers and/or hardware."
Card is an RX 480 4GB. Running W10 ver 1809 and 18.10.1 drivers.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem (8 x RX580, Win10 ver 1809 and 18.10.1 drivers), Claymore works normally.
To extract maximum performance from the GPUs, we use some driver-specific optimizations. Therefore it is not advisable to upgrade to the latest drivers right after they are out. We recommend to stick with drivers that were released
before the version of PhoenixMiner you are currently using. For PhoenixMiner 3.5d this means drivers up to 18.8.x but not the newer ones. We will add support for 18.10.1 in the next release of PhoenixMiner.
