Also can you please add support for the pool.viabtc.com.............. ETH mining........ looks like it fails to decode the job received from the pool
It looks like the viabtc pool on port 3333 doesn't work properly at this time but you can connect without problems to 443 as shown bellow:
Code:
-pool ethereum.viabtc.com:443 -wal viabtcuser -worker rigname -pass x
Just replace viabtcuser with your viabtc user name and rigname with your rig name (Rig01, etc).

"ADL overdrive not supported on GPU1"  before DAG generate
what dose it mean? and speed of GPU1 below average.
ADL OverDrive is the API used to monitor the GPU temperature and fan speed. It is supported on all AMD GPUs so this should not happen. The reason is the bug in the new Adrenaline drivers that report wrong bus IDs for the OpenCL devices. If you are using PhoenixMiner 2.3 or below, please try with PhoenixMiner 2.4 (you can download it from here: https://mega.nz/#F!TVdz1Doa!c61LTq8djctxyp2OGgnuIA).

If the problem persists with PhoenixMiner 2.4, could you please send us the log file (you can post it here or in a PM to us) to investigate further?

this is my log. use v2.4 but still there. and temp.of gpu1 is N/A

Great !! Thanks.........
My Bad.... i should have checked 443 too before complaining... Smiley

If you are using PhoenixMiner 2.3 or below, please try with PhoenixMiner 2.4 (you can download it from here: (MEGA links are no longer active)).

If the problem persists with PhoenixMiner 2.4, could you please send us the log file (you can post it here or in a PM to us) to investigate further?

The release candidate version of PhoenixMiner 2.4 is released and can be downloaded from here:
  https://mega.nz/#F!TVdz1Doa!c61LTq8djctxyp2OGgnuIA

Here are the checksums to verify the download:
Code:
    File: PhoenixMiner_2.4.zip
   SHA-1: 72f3a1b29faffeaa8e961976432e223b145bec07
 SHA-256: a116d27815b156780a8000b599ee90d76334bd2ed3f3ffc4145c0cde3b69a60d
 SHA-512: 14a878ab10492442b55020d07c1b74e9e8a07f82ebc3a1b3f060ed5ab917708a5dafe4fd1fa1629a0973ad883307e703443c7e02214edd44fd8129027179d104

Note that this is not an official release yet but will probably become such in a few days. The changes are:
  • Added optimized kernels for AMD Tahiti GPUs (280/280X/7950/7970)
  • Added -minRigSpeed (or -minspeed) option to restart the rig if the 5 min average speed is below specified threshold
  • Added support for mining Pegascoin (PGC) without DAG switch on devfee
  • Bugfix: sometimes reconnect failed with one or more "Connection attempt aborted" errors
  • Bugfix: sometimes the temperatures/fan speeds were shown only for the first GPU
  • Bugfix: some Vega GPUs were not properly detected and used generic OpenCL kernels

The per-GPU minimal speed threshold (-minGpuSpeed) will be implemented in the next version to allow more time for testing.

Also can you please add support for the pool.viabtc.com.............. ETH mining........ looks like it fails to decode the job received from the pool
We will look into this. Thanks for reporting.

Thats great, thank you

The optimized kernels for Tahiti are good however the GPUs suffer the bug thrashing so unless they are used to mine something such as EXP or some other low DAG coin, the speed is not worth it.

Pretty much all Tahitis have moved over to the Equihash and Cryptonight coins.

Keep up the good work.

I have tried  miner with my rig. I have Vegas 56 and have different versions, some are recognized as gfx900 and some as gfx901.
gfx900 are using generic OpenCL kernels, which are slower than optimized.
gfx901 are correctly recognized and using optimized OpenCL kernels
Thank you for reporting this. It will be fixed in PhoenixMiner 2.4, which will be released in a few days.

If you need any more details let me know.
Thank you for the log. We have a clue why this might be happening but we will send you a new version via PM later today to confirm if the workaround is working.

Some rigs crash as well.  Do you want copies of the log files ?  This happens on claymore too but faster on this miner , and not even after a disconect and reconnect
Unfortunately the logs won't provide much information as we already report any OpenCL errors in red color directly in the console window. If you don't see any OpenCL errors in the console window, then all OpenCL calls seem to complete successfully. This is definitely a driver instability because of the high memory or core overclock (or too aggressive memory straps even at normal memory clocks). The only thing that can be done to alleviate such problems (besides scaling down the overclock just a little) is to add couple of -minspeed like options: one for the whole rig and the other for individual GPUs as described bellow. If the hashrate of a GPU falls bellow the specified threshold for more than minute or so, the miner will restart itself (or the whole rig if you specify -rmode 2).

Whoah! Would really love to have this option.
Can't wait for it
The plan is to have -minRigSpeed option that would be equivalent to Claymore's -minspeed, and -minGpuSpeed. On the second one if you specify one value, it will apply to every card and if you specify multiple values they will be used on card-by-card basis and apply different min speed for each GPU (if you don't want one some of the GPUs to be monitored for min speed you can specify 0 for their min speed).

Awesome work, i Hope you can add commands -cvddc -mvdcc -cclock -mclock for control the gpu.

They are included in the TODO list but we need to fix some other issues first. We hope to start implementing the AMD clock/frequency controls in two-three weeks.

29 mhs is a standard 2000 mem oc for rx cards its nothing out of the ordinary
core and temps are low and cards are undervolted as well, I dont see how dual mining can have the cards
‘looking’ wierd as you say , I dont think they are taxed that much

Ive dual mined beofre yeah , mild OC on the cards but they are only a few months old

I'm talking about memory overclocks.

You said 29.8MH/s. You need to overclock quite high to get that, not a "mild" overclock. Plus just a few months dual mining could have your cards start working weird.

Hello. I agree with DavidC1. As I had the same issue with an MSI RX 480 Gaming X and ASUS RX480 Strix (both Samsung memory chips). After trying with different drivers and claymore builds I was able to fix it by downclocking the memory to 1950 Mhz. It seems that going above 1950 triggers the issue again.

PS: I'm using 1500 straps in both vcards.

Is there any option like -minspeed ?
Not yet but we are considering it. However to be truly useful, it should probably have the ability to set a per-GPU minimal speed also if the GPUs are not the same.

Whoah! Would really love to have this option.
Can't wait for it

Thank you
