Xiaomi is the company which redefined the budget phones category in the whole world. Before them no one imagined phones with that great quality would be that cheap. They made it happen. They also have completed ecosystem of Internet of Things (at least in China). Also, they are the ones who introduced online sales and made it that huge. Certainly, Xiaomi is way more innovative than Oppo for me.
It is different with oppo itself, Oppo is spending lots of money on advertising and they are recovering it by making their phones pricy. I know many people who buy Oppo and praise it for many days. But later they start to realize that they have paid much more for the quality as they start to face issues. Not everyone faces issues though.
The main difference is Xiaomi provides same specifications at the arguably better quality and much lesser price. So, for me, Xiaomi is the winner amongst the two.

I prefer xiomi, because it is cheap but good quality
I strongly agree with your argument, I am also a lover of xiomi, it has been more than 2 years I use xiomi smartphone and did not find any constraints, cheap but not cheap.
In my opinion, Oppo is better than Xiaomi because there are some oppo phones whose features and specifications are superior to xiaomi is even superior to other mobile phones in its class. such as the Vooc Rapid Charge feature, the O-Click Swivel Camera, 8 Pin Fruit innovations in Batterai, as well as many other great features.
