Thank you minerjones,

Rotting looks to me as glue is detaching from surface because of misplaced (off-centered) private key.

I've been on their website but thought that price is not correct for loaded 1BTC, now i see they are selling empty coins - in this case 300€ is way too much.

This is the second one I have heard about.
Not sure why a hologram/sticker would "rot" or deteriorate over such a short period of time. Huh
From what I have heard, they will re- hologram your coin. - but this is not from personal experience and I have not heard the end result, yet.... Cheesy

Thanks Smiley

Shakespeare #001 and Tesla #002 arrived today.  Very nice Proof finish.  They're very similar to the previous Einstein coin.  Coins are inside their capsules, so scratches shown are from the airtites.

Public Service Announcement:

It appears like the Tesla and Shakespeare coins are now available for pre-order on their website (or have been and I wasn't aware).  I was in the middle of reviewing elianite's encyclopedia last night when I got to the Infinitum section, and I went to their website to confirm some specs.

Last night I ordered the #001 for Shakespeare and #002 for Tesla.  I did receive email confirmations today.

Today it seems like #1-10 for each are sold, but the other numbers are avail.  I asked the OP to mention it on the boards, but it looks like they didnt, so I decided to let the community know.

In prior releases, they sent out emails, so I cant confirm if these were meant for the public to purchase yet.

Hello All,

We have received one of the coins in question back from a customer and after inspection we found that the sticker was in fact unsticking from where the edge meets the qr code.

We have since updated our process and tested by warming up and cooling the coins to test expansion and contraction.

Should any customer have an issues we are happy to replace free of charge, So far we have replaced one coin.

Please send an email to to [email protected] for the attention of Mandy and I will liaise directly with you.

Regards,

Mandy

The QR code on my Da Vinci coin is rotting only after a few months.
Mandy at the company suggests I watch it rot, as her solution.
This is a warning to others before they buy, that service at this company does not exist.

I got my coin in the mail today too.

Sadly...the outer box was a little crushed on the edge, and the coin itself seemed to rub Einstein's forehead inside the plastic airtite, leaving a bunch of noticeable scratches and marks on his head.  Otherwise, its a very nice coin, with a frosted proof-like finish.

does anyone have an actual real life picture of one of these coins?

Most images appear to be design versions or taken in a studio (which is hard to see what they look like in actual day light).

Please post pics if anyone (including OP) has them.

Thanks

the INGENIUM series could have up to 5 coins in the collection and then a new series will begin.

I think we are using geniuses who have long passed. as part of the team I do have input into which genius is next.

lets take a forum vote on which genius we should make the next physical bitcoin for.

Here are some contenders:

Nicola Tesla
Michelangelo
Archimedes
Thomas Edison
William Shakespeare

Place your votes the one with the most votes I will push my hardest to get it made.  Voting ends end of July.

Mandy

Nicola Tesla for sure Smiley Although I wouldn't mind seeing a Shakespeare coin either

The coin series is called INGENIUM which means genius.

The range at the moment contains Da Vinci and Einstein. Who are both classed as geniuses.

Tom hanks is not classed as a genius, he is a great actor who also stars in music videos.

Mandy

How would you define a genius? Most say that Beethoven was a genius due to the musical work he produced. Nowadays however, if someone like Beethoven would release his own classical music, he'd get little publicity or attention. I guess it is relative to a character in his/her time period.
Although I agree that Einstein was a genius, he did fail Maths in school... Anyway, definitely an interesting concept you've got going. Any idea how many editions you'd make? There were and are quite a few genii/geniuses to this day that you'd have to feature (myself included) Wink

Why Einstein?  Also, how many coins are you planning to release?  Is Tom Hanks next? Smiley
