In Russian Orthodox churches outside Russia both dates are often celebrated, although the main celebration is according to old Julian calendar, on January 7. December 25 is still Russian fast.

I'm atheist, and for me the true Holiday is a New Year. In other hand, some part of Russians are orthodox Christians, and there is the difference in calendar of 2 weeks, so they have the Christmas in January.
