Anyone who spent time in children's camps as a child probably remembers what a pleasure it was to have pillow fights with your peers. I think this sport was invented by someone who has nostalgia for childhood.
But seriously speaking, the number of certain sports that have been given professional status is very surprising. The only good thing is that such sports will somehow distract people from gadgets, but there are also fears that all new sports will cross the line of normality.

Pillow fight is harmless, but I don't think there's a way to judge the winner except the judges count how many times both of the fighters swing their follow to each other.

Honestly, I don't think any sport is safe
I only know one sport that is safe, it's chess Cheesy

You don't have to stare at cell phone or PC all the time, sit for a long time and need to have a quick reflection like e-sport.

You don't have to train your body, taking a risk, etc like sport in general.

After we saw the SlapFight Championship which had a lot of buzz on social media and also raised concerns about the safety of fighters or in a better term: slappers, it was a known topic of discussion between both supporters and others against it. Today, while I was surfing and watching some videos I came across a video of pillow fighting between two tough guys in a ring the thing that made me search for more information. Surprisingly, I found out that they also have a championship and there's already the first professional international pillow fighting sports association which means it’s officially a sport.
I don't see it as bad as slapping but it might be a bit boring for us to watch because it seems nearly impossible to knock your opponent out or for judges to determine a winner unless they decide to put rocks inside the pillows (just kidding).

What are your thoughts on this new sport, Do you think we might see it in sportsbooks anytime soon?
Compared to Slap Fight pillow fighting is safer but less entertaining.  It will take so long time for the winner to emerge except there are rules that make it difficult or the pillow has much weight. Contestants in this sport should have the strength and stamina to withstand the force and weight of the pillow. The rules also look very simple meaning that anyone can play the game. Contestants have to stand six feet apart and try to hit their heads.

But people with martial arts and jujitsu skills will have an added advantage in the sports. Due to its nonviolent nature virtually anyone including children can attend the fight. But I don't think the sport will become popular because it looks inserious which might make it get fewer sponsors.

There's no challenge on this, these encounters are done at parties so it's a fun game but I don't think it deserves to get in, on Sportsbook, I could not imagine myself betting on a pillow fight, not all events can be included in the sportsbook, sports that deserve to be on sportsbook are those who offer challenges and excellence in performance, you cannot expect that on pillow fights.
If Sportsbook will include this, then Trip to Jerusalem could be the to be included in Sportsbook.

There are yet to be discovered weird leagues and championships that we have yet to discover. It would be a shame for grown ass men to participate in this type of league. This should be a women and children only competition. I am thinking about the health consequences of the impact of multiple pillow impacts on the head. I would like to know if there are bookies that lists this as one of the sports that bettors can place a wager on.

Pillow fight? What great memories you bought back with this, back in high school many years ago we used to play this game any time we had some excursion outside of the country in the hotel rooms.

Getting back now to if will this ever make it to any sports book I highly doubt it will as there is no real interest to bet on such sport en mass.May be some people including me would love to see such fight and bet a few cents just to entertain myself but for this to become mainstream in betting I see it as almost impossible.

I had no idea this was a thing omg. Also they fight in the octagon like the UFC :O
I guess when slapfighting can be a "serious" sport, why cant pillowfighting lmao. Some of the moves they try to pull there are pretty wild hahaha. Plenty of videos on YT and its also on ESPN oh wow
I have not seen it but how do they determine a winner, since I suppose it is practically impossible to KO your opponent or even injure them with just a regular pillow, then I am curious about how the winner is selected, does style counts similar to what we see with ice skating and other similar sports? Because that is the only way I could see an event like this to work, even if I do not really think anyone that is relatively busy will use their scarce free time to watch a competition like this one.

Two tough guys fighting with pillows? Nah, I'm not interested.
I would be interested in pillow fighting only when I see two hot girls fighting with pillows naked. Grin This might sound sexist, but what the heck. Grin
The bookies might include such sport in their platforms, if there's enough interest among the sports fans. If the sports fans like the sport, they will start placing bets on it for sure. The rules of this sport have to be really weird. How heavy are those pillows actually? Can you knockout somebody on the ground with a pillow? I don't think so.

Try looking for the video on YouTube and laughing watching a sport like that, interestingly a match like that has been played in my country during Independence Day celebrations and is the most exciting thing to watch but it's not done in an arena but the players sit on a piece of wood facing each other and hit with pillows and falling into the water is a loser.
I don't know whether a sport like this will survive because of course the interest of the audience will determine the sustainability of new sports, but this is still safer than slap fighting where athletes can suffer serious injury or even death, like boxing. Should we watch a match like that? why not, especially if it's quite entertaining but usually local television won't broadcast the match like this so only those with a television subscription might watch it.

I don't think so. This isn't a sport, it's more like a child's play. I think it's ridiculous for adults to engage in such games for competitive reasons, especially tough guys, because it doesn't reach to any conclusions. Pillows are made of feathers and foam, so their impact on each other is null. Slap tournaments make more sense, because it measures the strength and endurance of each competitor. It's possible to define a winner there and the best competitors will stand out as professional stars. Now think about pillow fights: how are you going to define a professional master on that game? I don't see it landing in the sports book it's not as competitive as real combat sports like Boxing and MMA there's a lack of excitement compared to combat sports but if there is a big demand coming from bettors they might consider it, it's unlikely for me, between pillow fight and boxing, majority of bettors will easily pick boxing, pillow fights don't have the excitement, and the thrill of boxing.

There's no strategy whatsoever they just hit each other with a pillow anyone can do this compared to boxing and other combat sports where you need to be in tip-top shapes and train hard to beat the other guy, this pillow fight can be considered a fun fight, it was made for fun.

I found SlapFight fun, it seemed to be much less aggressive than any other combat sport we had until then, but after I started seeing reports of people who had a completely deformed face, dislocated jaw, broken teeth and even cases of people who were left deaf because the eardrum burst, I was shocked.

Now, pillow fight? It seems harmless, until we have the first report that someone had a broken neck because of a vicious blow from an opponent Tongue
Honestly, I don't think any sport is safe, so today my opinion would be: Stop inventing new and completely crazy "sports". I don't even expect to see them prospering, much less do I expect bookmakers to list championships like this, that's ridiculous.

I have not heard such sports. Op edit your post and add some images of you are saying and the link which you made the research so that the story will look legit. As it is we don't know they are using the pillow to fight even the slap fight I have not heard of it. So I will advise to link the stories. I am curiously to see the images and the link to read more. And I don't think it is an international fight and if it was an international sport, international sport channels and international news stations would have broadcast it.

I believed it is a regional game. Pillow fight and slap fight, I will not even light to watch it because it would not be interested and it will be too brutal.

For this Pillow fight I think not many people heard of it, but slap sport really? You didn’t come across some videos or articles talking about it, that’s weird because it did a very good buzz everywhere. I will try to add a good picture for the topic but what are you talking about if my story is legit hun? It is real and both are already considered sports. You should be the one who search more about such things and I didn’t base my information to an article to mention a specific source.
Brutal for using pillow? Or you really thought they fill the pillows with rocks hehe. Yes slap fights are brutal and many fighters already suffered dangerous injuries, maybe it will be stopped soon if more cases appears which i believe they will in next Leagues they organize.
Despite being an international sport, not all international channel would show such games. They show what their audience, would love to watch. Not every viewer find joy watching such an unpopular game for their subscription. I saw the slap competition did get some attention, because of how much people love physical fights. It's somehow related to hand wrestling. Game developers also integrated slapping games for mobile games. A proof of the fame such fight brought to the gaming world. As for pillow games, it'll have to take more time to be famous and shown across top channels. If they'll be organizing the slapping game to a minimal and friendly manner for the health of participants. Pillow fight is a nice substitute. Slapping fight, will have bad impacts on people's eardrum. Which pain is very critical to the comfort and balance of the participant. Down to the gambling world. Gamblers need to study the game; players, statistics and profits. Before venturing into such a new league. No one love staking money on a game they do not understand. Once the slapping league starts popping out good odds and provides good participants, with high probability of winning in the league. Gamblers may be curious to see or play in favor of their favorite pillow fighter. This sounds funny, but expect the unexpected. New games as these would make it to becoming an internationally legalized games. And sports associations would sponsor and push them to get known and famous in the community. Unlike old games like football, it'll be difficult to see slapping or pillow fighting games easily on the streets. That's why they're not famous yet, and needs years to go viral to such an extent.

As it is in the world currently, any sort of sport that is yet to exist, you know that nobody has thought about it for it to become a reality.

I wouldn't but feel surprised about the pillow fight league. This is my first time hearing a pillow fight league.

I am simply trying to imagine how it will look like when being watched. What will be the fighter's rules and regulations, and how the points and rounds will be done before someone declares the winner? This is what someone should be aware of before taking part in it or betting for fun on it.

First heard it as a sport, never seen any fights on cam of it as well, surprisingly there's a league already. As i didnt see any fight yet on how the winner is recognize i can't give any opinions but would love to see it really there is.

Edit: Searched some vids about this, and yeah it looks like fun, but didnt see any KO, maybe just the more you hit the more your score is since it looks like fighters not getting hurt of the pillow punch lol so getting KO is impossible.

I would have to see this to even be able to form a legitimate opinion on if it was anything more than a gimmick. The fact you say there are large men doing it and not a group of sorority girls makes me think maybe there is some legitimate fighting skill involved, which might make it fun to watch and thus fun to place a bet on.

Kind of boring if I imagine it, might be different if I watch it though (also pillows with rocks, damn that's savage). Honestly, the slapfight competition was enjoyable. It was thrilling in itself since you know when the slap would be done and the reaction doesn't even have to be exaggerated, just their natural reactions is more than enough to show how much power each slap has, which is why it was good. Pillow fighting though? Hmm unless they put some twist into it I don't think it's that good.

Also who determines whether an activity is a sport or not? Just the creation of an association around it? I'd much rather consider it as a small scale tournament than an official sport immediately tbf.

I think there should really be a modification on this considering it will not create some audiences who want some good fun to watch. If they want to go upgrade I think they should consider to be more unique than the usual pillow fight we're so accustomed. Rocks? I think just a little hard material would do that could knock out opponents after several slaps of that pillow.
