680W 1,250 MH/s (3 x HD5870)

The HDD I'm currently using draws too much power for what it's used for and I've not reduced the voltage on the cards, so the power could be lower if I had the enthusiasm to reduce it.

450W 800Mhash/s. 2x 6950

Not as efficient as it will be, more cards will be going into the same box.

better get a new gpu fast, because your old one will take you nowhere (except you have a ton of luck Smiley )

until then, why not join one of the pools, so you get at least some small amount of btc?
The GPU I planned to upgrade to is hte Radeon HD 6950 (due to good performance and tweaking ability)

The last thing 4 me to resolve is how my PSU can handle it.
It's an Enermax 620W Liberty series (I got this in 2007 and has survived several builds)

can I run hte HD 6950 on that PSU or will the draw of amps on +12V line be too much for my PSu 2 handle?

Pc specs;
Core i7 920 2.67 stock (3Ghz when OC'd)
6 GB RAM
Radeon HD 4670 (currently)
Mobo Asus P6T-SE
Enermax 620W Liberty PSU
80GB HDD SATAII
750GB HDD SATAII (upgrade to 2TB or 3TB planned)
300GB IDE HDD.(This will be replaced as well as soon as it gives out)

How much faster will a 6950 be ompared to a 4670? if it takes 3.2yrs (or never) on a 4670 then how long can I expect before getting my 50BTC on the 6950 GPU (Overclocked will be quicker of course)

also thanx 4 the helpful replies about my current card and process of BTC mining.

The older GPUs are not worth it to use for mining. They use a lot of electric power, but can't do a lot of calculation.

I don't know how long this will take me before I get my first 50BTC,as I've used the mining calcs (both 50% and 95%) but i can't understand the resuts so if ny1 has more experience with this, can u plz tell me inhours,days,e.t.c when this will happen on my card.
On average about 3.2 years, but that's with the current difficulty level so never is more realistic. You need to join a pool. Your power consumption (even for just the GPU) is 3-4x higher than the most efficient rigs, so if you pay for electricity your profit will be very low.

Is this total cunsumption for my entire Pc or ust my GPU only?

My GPU is ATI Radeon HD4670.
Stock speeds are:
750MHZ clock
1000MHZ mem clock

Overclocked to the max
778MHZ clock via catalyst (as it wont go ny higher)
1140MHZ mem clock

I get a avg hash rate of 36.5 MHash/s
My power use (of GPU) is ~70W max due to Overclocking (it's 59W at load, non OC)

I don't know how long this will take me before I get my first 50BTC,as I've used the mining calcs (both 50% and 95%) but i can't understand the resuts so if ny1 has more experience with this, can u plz tell me inhours,days,e.t.c when this will happen on my card.Am thinking of upgrading GPU at sum point.

260W @410MH/s on a single 5870.
Effective energy usage though is 150W as I only mine on my regular computer, which I use all the time anyway. And it's idle usage is 110w.

Getting a second 5870 later today, so will update with new numbers then. But my guess is that It also will be adding another 150W @~400 after I modify clocks.
