I'm a member of this forum and it looks really promising. It is growing well and looks like it will soon be a great competitor to BCT

I'd encourage you to join when you have the opportunity!

Why do you need another forum?

Bitcointalk is the BEST and most used Bitcoin and cryptocurrency forum out there.

Thank you for your concerns and opinions, Vod! I think we're done now.

I think so!  Thanks for removing the giveway - that was my only issue.

(I don't care to be a mod here, thx lol)

Good luck with your forum.

In regards to the giveaway that's still yet to be determined whether it'll be a complete sum of $1500 worth of bitcoins, split up into individual payments, or $1500 worth of digital/physical goods. However, once the forum is up and running with decent activity there will be a giveaway as advertised. I'm sorry to hear about a scammer who promised $50 for those 35 spots! That's awful! Luckily they only signed up and didn't give him any sort of cash, waste of time since they wont be active now haha!

Please remove the $1500 GIVEWAY from the title of the thread if you are not willing to guarantee it.

This is a throw away account for you.  Face it, if your forum becomes successful, you will not be on this one anymore.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you tell us what escrow is holding the $1,500 cash prize?  I'm not sure if you are aware, but we recently had a scammer who promised $50 for 35 posts, and a few people fell for it.

I was referring to onsite access it's a 1on1 chat, but of course they're stored in a table within the database. However the site security is my main concern and it's fully updated aswell as protected. I'm not intersted to be going through all the hassle of going through Mysql to view messages which in the weeks to come, when fully launched...will be hundreds sent on a daily basis. Who's has the time for that?

The "too much work" excuse is lame.  I'm sure you're aware there is a plug in that makes viewing private messages very easy.  There may be others as well.

Edit:  I don't mean to be an ass.  Think of me as a social "white hat" hacker.  I find holes in stories and test the maturity of owners.

Just registered for this new forum only had to search for a code that was still not used. Best to remove the codes that are already used. Also I am not that convicted at this moment if we really need a new Bitcoin forum. Most information that I want to know is also available here but that doesn't mean that you not could try to make a great new forum. Will for sure keep watching how this will involve the next few weeks.

Goodluck with your project!

Received an invitation code from Jhanzo, probably the OP is still not online but when you come online I would like to know about the privacy on the website/forum, are the personal messages stored anywhere and accessed by anyone else except the user who sent/received it.

The personal messages are between yourself and the other recipient only. Thank you.

Not true, and not a good idea to start off misleading your users.    Undecided

You don't use client side encryption for the messages - that means YOU, and anyone else that has access to the database, can read and modify all "private" messages.

Same as your "anonymous" like/dislike service - if you record those (which you admitted you do since you can view usage), then they are not anonymous, are they?

A forum will live or die based on the admin.  That is why this forum has thrived - Theymos is a trustworthy guy.  Only time will tell what kind of admin you will be.

Good luck.  Bitcoin could use an alternative forum.

Claimed ojZ0KKjPnOn9Yd. Site design looks nice, good luck with your forum! Very quiet right now. I noticed there is a reputation system. How would one leave reputation?
