I thought at first that you mean not to sell your coins when the price drops. What you're saying is just a theft of your assets so if you have your coins stored correctly in a wallet with priv key you shouldn't worry about loosing your BTC.
True the value of cryptocurrency won’t affect anything if people just keep them in their pocket. But while trading it with something, it will be compared to fiat money. And its capacity will be confined to that equivalent price.
As crypto doesn’t have any intrinsic value, I think this is important to keep track on the price. This price is the buying capability of crypto. You can only buy anything more with crypto than its equivalent fiat value.
If every investor can have the same ideas as you, then the whole market will be green. Sadly, most investors are now panicking for the decline of the market!

Why we should not look at the fiat numbers? I mean when you get to buy anything with bitcoin, you need to know the value of it as per fiat money. I think the wallets are quite secured unless we do any foolish things.
