Hah. The first time I got promo tokens in 2017, I didn't know why I got them (I thought someone had sent the tokens to me by mistake; it wasn't a thing back then, mind you). I have a couple of few tokens that are worth $77.34 at the time. I know it doesn't help with projects' recognition, but who would turn down free tokens (especially Ethereum and ERC20 based ones)?

Yes, my advice is only to ignore it because it is very disturbing in the progress of cryptocurrency now many are harmed by ordinary ICO projects, so be quiet and ignore not to complain here because they don't care and who you really are to tell all ICOs not to promote to you and it turns out they don't care, this is an effort they have made for a long time and need big money, if it is obtained for free it is very fortunate that you may be from one coin or a partial token good? it can happen and again if you don't want to ignore all promotions that come to you.

If they not sell it “right now” they have a risk not sell it “never” in 99%. All is simple.

If you do not know how to choose quality projects that implement road map plans, then this is your problem!

Its very bad that projects think sending a few units of tokens to thousands of people means that they will get more recognition.
What this does is give them a short term high circulating supply that results from people dumping the Tokens and them the price will be worse than before.

Yeah i have also received few promo tokens that are nothing but dummy tokens, i think icos should never send such tokens without prior permission or they should only send such tokens who have applied for them, i think this type of promotion is nothing but spam.

What a shit this "new" way of promoting ico!

Marketing managers of ICOs, are u really thinking this way contributes to development of your project? NO. Your useless shitcoins are being perceived like usual SPAM. It's even more awful than Avon samples from desperate women.

Thanks for the listening to.

I agree it is quite anoying and I don´t think is efficient in terms of the money you have to spend to deploy all those tokens that will mostly be ignored. There are better ways.

I have a lot of this weird tokens in my wallets, that have no value (yet) and have been sent to me for doing nothing. I think we can classify them as spam easily. But you never know. Just leave them in your wallets, maybe they will be worth at least for a drink someday.  Grin

What is so wrong in sending promos? If its free why not? Just like how they are giving airdrops I really think that is not a different way in giving them to the people, And if you don't like their shit tokens then I think you can sure ignore what is their trying to promote? Is it really that hard to just ignore it? And why lumping this to AVON and desperate woman? Do you really have issues in promoting or people that just want to make a living? I really think it is OK to have as many token there is even if they don't have any value for now Because someday they will be listed in some exchange and you will be surprise with its value, Or if not at least you can have a piece of their token, I think that is the effort of the developer in making it.

Because I hate everything intruding in my property. When I first time faced with it, I was wondering whether such tokens will have any value in future. The answer was no. Obviously, this is a cornerstone reason of my discontent.

Yes, I understand my wallet and any data once uploaded in WWW are public domain. I just give a feedback, my irritated reaction to this promo case.

They are marketing it that way and if you don't like those tokens simply ignore it.

It doesn't look good on your address when you are searching it?

I agree that these promo tokens are a PIA.  I dislike people hijacking my wallet with junk coins.  I for one will not invest in any project that attempts this type of spamming technique.  We need less spam not more.
