In other words, get your coins off Cryptsy yesterday. It always starts like this: "Everything is fine, don't worry, nothing to see here, everything's normal, everyone just be calm ... "

It looks like Cryptsy is in the danger zone also ... they just got sued in a big way by a group of people who got scammed.  Just check Google news ...

In other news:
Moolah strikes again http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/oct/23/british-serial-entrepreneur-missing-bitcoin-apparently-stolen

General rule applies here: get your money off of cryptsy just to be sure   Undecided

Yes, anyone who's using cryptsy get out immediately. keep it safe in your own wallet until everything is resolved with cryptsy and their cases

The real story from Cryptsy: (don't panic just yet)

FYI: Response from Cryptsy

Response regarding lawsuit

There was quite a bit of PR pushed out yesterday from a law firm that stated that they were filing a lawsuit against Cryptsy and myself. The complaint alleges that Crytpsy misled users and was negligent in security. They represent a single user. We have reviewed the unofficial complaint and believe that it is without merit. We intend to defend the case vigorously.

We would like to note that we have not received any documentation or official notification concerning any lawsuit yet.  We also find it unprofessional that the law firm decided to push out such a large PR campaign prior to serving any notice.

As I’m sure many of you are aware, we take security very seriously.  We pride ourselves on being one of the most secure places to trade on the internet. However, in this case, the attack on the user making the claim came from within their own computer.   While we try to educate our users on how to secure their local environment, we ultimately have no control of a users computer system.

So as a reminder I’d like to reiterate a few security tips:

- Do not leave your computer logged into your Cryptsy account when you are away from your computer
- Do not install browser extensions from unknown developers
- Do not install mining software from unknown developers on the same computer you use to access Cryptsy
- Run a virus scan regularly.
- Make sure you use 2fa on your Cryptsy account

I'm using hotmail to register an account, not receiving the confirmation e-mail though.

Edit: Never mind, using a gmail adress fixed this problem.

Avatars are overrated.
Has anyone as stupid as me, that had funds in Mintpal, been able to withdraw balances successfully?
Actually in the beginning that was the only way that I got anything out was by dumping other coins on their semi functioning marketplace and buying pnd and sending it. I am happy to say that I got all of mine out. I am sorry for your loss though buddy. Sad I do hold other coins that I wasn't able to liquidate on mintpal still so me and heavyhess have a bounty for anyone that can figure out how to get our coins out. Myself and heavyhess are putting up 2million karma (we still hold karma there).
