PhiPhi
nicely done!
It's possible I was the first to chat with PhiPhi, but I don't wanna brag.
Now, here's my mess which I've also detailed on pandacointalk, also:
Impatience led me to reset my blockchain, and next thing you know, I am at this point.
Though I have backed up every few days....I can not get past: "wallet data corrupt, salvage failed" ~ I blame myself, but I wish there were someway to make it work. I followed all of goldfinch's directions. PhiPhi I know you were trying to help, but I was in panic mode, which has now turned to epic fail mode. I just don't know what else to do. I even lost my original %appdata%\Pandacoin folders because I am a habitual "empty trash" man, and it may have really bit me in the ass this time. Maybe in all my backups, I could have titled them incorrectly? I usually use the date and how much PND I have. Don't know if that matters or not. But, I may have lost it all. Talk about desperate. I am so inept at this part of computing. A total numbskull. It is what it is, though. I have done plenty of things wrong, I am sure, but I did faithfully back up every few days to my external hard drive, plus my thumb drive. I took it all so seriously, and that may have just been my doom. Takin' it all too seriously. Thank you. Sorry for whining. P.S. To make matters worse, it seems I can't even get my backups to open on my own computer. Either they are all indeed corrupt because none of them will open, or I do not have the proper program to open the suckers. Fate, I guess. I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge.
Oh my I can try to help, let's just get our bearings
Do you know windows file explorer press windows key hold it then E
to open it. Now on the top where you can type a path or unc type
%appdata% clearing whatever is there then press enter.
Does your explorer show you a directory? If so look for the
Pandacoin subdirectory. Do you find it?
My directory on my
pc is for instance C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\PandaCoin
The way to put a backup to use should you need it is to
simply copy the wallet.dat from the backup, and paste it
where it belongs, but it does need to be renamed wallet.dat
Then you could try to reset your blockchain again
You don't have to use the latest backup, so if you have to try an earlier backup that should be fine
Is this what you have been trying? You could re-install the Pandabank then copy your backup.dat to wallet.dat where it belongs
